My best friend from grad school had a baby girl this morning, exactly one month early. Everyone is fine. They named her Maya because they liked it and Sandra for Nicole's mom, who died very unexpectedly at a very young age (40s) a few years ago.

Nothing to lift the spirits like new life! Welcome Maya! Especially because it makes me an honorary aunt again! Welcome Maya! And really especially because now I have an excuse for a trip to San Diego to see my new honorary niece! LOL It barely hit 30 degrees here today, San Diego sounds pretty good right about now!
