I spent an hour unseparating all my paperclips yesterday.
When I attempted to complete my paperwork in a hurry this morning - all the darn things were joined again. Exactly how do they do it??

LOL,
Years ago where I use to work,a guy from the night crew would use my desk and as a prank he'd join the clips in my desk like a chain,and it was so annoying when I needed just one clip, not a chain. I finally guessed who it was,he was giggling,and we all laughed. We use to leave a snack or cigarette(not lit) in my top middle draw,so it was really a nice co-working relationship.

LOL I don't know how they do it, but it never fails, does it? Maybe it's the movement of us reaching in and getting one or two...
 If you ever solve that mystery, make sure and let us know.

Maybe if we ask "Clippy," the paper clip on MS Word! He might know! He's got all kinds of answers to my questions!
 He's so cute, too! LOL
