Ok, I don't know why she's doing this but she will rip up any paper that is lying on the floor. She especially likes the tissue paper that victoria's Secret wraps thier underwear in. She's ripped up a news paper, bills and an entire magazine of mine! At first it was kind of cute...but now I'm wondering if there is something wrong with her? Any advice?

Tika likes to tear up old supermarket flyers. She also loves the sound of wadded up tinfoil thrown on the kitchen floor.

Get her some toys, spray her with a water bottle when she is bad I have two cats and that seems to do the trick. Catnip toys and scratching toys are great!

I have a male cat that I have had since birth and he is now eight years old. He has always and still does, tear up any kind of paper he can get to. Whether it be newspapers, magazines, paper towels and even the plastic grocery bags you get from the grocery store. I have no idea why he does it but he never swallows any of it, so I don't worry too much about it, as he seems to be really entertained by it.

My cat also eats toiletpaper... and other stuff I don't want to mention. I think it's normal. I know when cats start eating grass and stuff it means they are constipated, maybe it's the same thing???

My youngest likes to chew plastic. I mean, he gets obsessed. with any kind of ZIploc-type bag or potato chip bag. Don't know why. He has about twenty toys. Go figure.

Well SpazKatt, if she actuallly swallows the paper and plastic, that's definitely not a good thing. It could plug her up and make her really sick. My cat just enjoys tearing the paper up and I watch him but he doesn't swallow it. He has tons of toys too but would rather have the newspaper!

Hi Tanya, when my cats eat grass, I have noticed about a half hour after they have eaten it, they will throw up and usually, they get rid of hairballs in their tummies that won't pass. I was always told they eat grass to empty their tummies from something that is upsetting it, like hairballs or something they have eaten that doesn't agree with them. I don't know, maybe I was told wrong??

No, she's normal, ha!ha! Cats and dogs, like to do this,my best explanation is that doing stuff like that for them is a source exploring and fun. Or my mom and I joke that when her cat or my 2 dogs do mischief we say they must of been board. LOL!

Hey Spaz, my cat Buddy is the same way. I think he's part dog or something. Buddy digs in my purse and pulls stuff out to eat. Sunglasses case, wallet and yes, even my checkbook. I hoped that Buddy would of out grown this, but he's 3 now and still loves to rip stuff up. All I can say is keep really important papers put up in something the kitty can't get into. Good Luck
