After many years of literary silence due to not being able to concentrate or find an interest ............
I have recently finished reading the better part of Jodi Picoult's collection. Last week I finished my first book by Mauve Binchy. I might read more by her - not sure though. I had just started The King of Torts by John Grisham, but 100 + pages in and I still felt bored so I have ditched it. I am going to seek out some more Dean Koontz and Stephen King books that I might not have read yet. I have also found a few Virginia Andrews books and am currently reading Dawn. I plan to re-read many of her other series. Anyone else want to share?

Most recently I find myself revisiting some oldies but goodies. I just finished The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty. (I read that in 1972.)
Before that was Watership Down by Richard Adams. I have been trying to get into The way the Crow Flies by Ann-Marie MacDonald but no luck so far. I may revisit Once Is Not Enough by Sidney Sheldon next.

I remember Once is Not Enough! I think I will re-visit that one too
 And Watership Down was just .... just stunning! What a book!! By mentioning the Exorcist, I am remembering the book (forget who wrote it) called The Entity. Weird but kept me interested. Movie wasn't nearly as good though!

SAbrina, I read The king of torts, it's interesting, but John Grisham has better ones, one I really liked of him was "Summons".
Right now I'm trying to finish 3 books, still can't really concentrate, but i'll let you know when I'm done wiht at least one of them I love to read, but it's getting harder than ever. ~hugs~

Ohh and if you are feeling Girlie enough, Jennifer Cruise is the way to go, it's funny and smart.

Thanks biplol! Perhaps I will continue with King of Torts when I am in a different frame of mind.
I do agree though that concentrating on reading is so very hard. It is such a thief of pleasure when those of us who love to read are unable to do so because of our illness. You are reading 3 books at once? Ok - that would fuzzle my brain a bit!

I did just read But Inside I'm Screaming by Elizabeth Flock (she also wrote Me and Emma, not a bad take)
It's about a newscaster who has a meltdown on screen and her journey through that. |

I do a lot of research on Amazon. If I like a book or author i just go there and type in the name. The book comes up and there are reviews from members as well as a section that says if you like this book you might like and it goes on to list different ones.

I was thinking about buy Letter to a Christian Nation by Sam Harris, but I heard it's too similar to The End of Faith, also by Sam Harris |

I agree with Jlove, "Interview with a Vampire" is a great book. I can also recommend "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley and "Master and Margarita" by Mikhail Bulgakov - an interesting view at Jesus's history.

I really like this thread. After next week I have a whole month to read something good. For the last 4 months I've been reading nothing but text books and look forward to reading a "real" book.
Has anyone read the book Eragon? I want to see the movie but also want to read the book. Is it any good? Jbug
