aw jeeze! I have to pick just one? No can do. It's a toss up between 60s/70s rock and modern country. Depends on my mood at the moment.

Just one doesnt work for me either. I like rock, 80's hair bands and metal. With sometimes a mix of other things.

Find this difficult to answer
I listen to a lot of singer/songwriter music example James Taylor, David Wilcox.
But if I had to choose a decade.. would be a toss up between 70's and 80's.

Late 60s and early 70s rock and folk rock and acid rock. Then there is modern finger style acoustic guitar. And 40s classic jazz.

I am mostly listen to Classic Rock ~ but I also really enjoy 80's hair bands, and heavy metal (80's -90's). Sometimes I listen to jazz/blues, other times, it's classical music. Mostly the Baroque and Classical periods (sometimes modern though).

The only music that I don't like is rap... well, but that probably doesn't qualify for this thread... since rap isn't actually MUSIC!

And, I'm not wild about country but I can stomach it on occasion.

But other than that... yeah.

I don't really have any "favorite" genre of music.

It's almost all good!

I like 80's music the best, even pop was good then, nothing like the crap music these days. I love 60's and 70's too.

I am a big music fan and like many genres. Lately, I've been entranced by Early Music (pre-classical). It's played on lutes and harps and instruments most people have never heard of. It's beautiful. Around this time of year I especially like to listen to pieces by Michael Praetorius.

This element of my personality is rather eclectic as there are four distinct styles of music that I consider to be favs for which I wouldn't want to do without: rock (Aerosmith, ZZ Top, Van Halen), old style country (Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash), bluegrass (Nitty Gritty Dirt Band) and the blues (B.B. King).

Music for me is like Lays... I "can't have just one". I listen to almost everything: classical, hip-hop (not the new stuff though ), pop, alternative, The Lumineers has got me interested in folk. I love soft rock... easy listening... new wave... house... disco... soul. My favorite years for music is 60's to 90's... yeah, a little bit of everything

I listen to just about everything usually whatever is playing on pandora atm. My personal collection of music ranges from old skool gangsta rap (Snoop Dogg, Eazy-E, N.W.A. and such artists) to newer rap like Eminem to classic rock from the 60s-80s to classic metal such as Megadeth and Sabbath to today's modern metal including A7X and Disturbed and I like a lot of cross genre music such as Linkin Park with their unique blend of rap and rock.

Have you listened to the Grateful Dead? They are a bluesy/bluegrass/jam band kinda group.

I don't have one favorite, but I like all these pretty equally:

-Electronica that doesn't overly use chromatic builds like crazy (this is really hard to find nowadays) I can make my own tho cause I'm a pretty decent musician hobbyist.

-Alternative hard rock

-Metal, speed metal, heavy metal depending on how it sounds. I don't like screamo/death metal.

-Funk! Oldschool slap happy funk that uses lead BASS guitar and rhythm bass guitar

-Anything that has an awesome groove.

I love indie music ( indie rock, indie pop, rock alternative, indie folk ) and my favourite bands/singers are : Mumford and Sons, The 1975, Of Monsters and Men, Arcade Fire, Birdy, Gabrielle Aplin, Coldplay and others . I never get tired of this; I can't stop from listening to this...I'm addicted to indie music.

Yeah, I like the Grateful Dead. Are they my absolute favorite band? No, but I like them. Don't currently own any of their albums, although at one time I had Skeletons from the Closet: The Best of the Grateful Dead and In the Dark both in my music collection. The Traveling Wilburys kind of reminded me of the Grateful Dead, but on a smaller scale. Kind of a weird thing for me to say perhaps, since the TWs were a super group comprised of rock icons, but as we know they produced far less music as a group than GD. And I guess it's fair to say each of these groups' demise was due at least in part to the passing of key band members. That's always sad when good bands stop what they were put on this earth to do, especially when their music has such lasting impacts for their fans.

Heavy metal. Christian metal is particularly good, because it has nice lyrics even a non-believer can appreciate, instead of the nasty stuff some heavy metal bands say.
Symphonic metal is good too. Other than those, I'm okay with any genre as long as there are decent lyrics and it's not just autotune, especially rap and alternative rock. Electronica can be good too. Although I suppose it all depends on the mood.

I really like a little bit of everything but mainly pop, since it gets my adrenaline going and makes me want to dance.
