The sounds I miss from my childhood were the calls of Bobwhite Quail and Whippoorwills, and the lonesome sound of a train horn.

Sometimes I lie in bed at night and try to remember those sounds.

Troll dolls
Racing carts made with wooden crates and roller skates
Metal runner sleds (ouch!)
Spraying the neighborhood with chemicals to "eliminate tree pests", standing outside to watch
computer punch card (with the little rectangle cut outs)
chains for regular cars in winter
switch blades
hair styles, the beehive, the flip, ...
peeling out with the car on main street, or any street...
