Sorry this is kind of a weird question,

But I was talking with someone the other day and we somehow got onto the topic of washing hair and she said she washes her hair everyday. I thought that was excessive, I usually just wash my hair once a week. I am black, and usually natural African American hair, depending on texture, isn't supposed to be washed everyday as it strips the hair of it's moisture and makes it really dry.

So how often do you wash your hair? Everyday? Once every two days? Once a week?

When I was younger, I washed it every day because it was very oily. Now I generally wash it every other day. Plus, when it really cold outdoors, even my scalp gets dry, so lately I have been washing it once a week. But I do rinse it every morning, and put some mousse in it.

Once a week for me too. I have long dark thick hair. It gets too dry if done more often.

What hair? I wash my head every morning, but as far as washing my hair, well you don't water a dead tree.
Thanks for this!

Once a week or so. I should wash it more, but, I just CBA. I have long, thin, straight hair.

Once a week or maybe twice if it's a good week.

I had some stupid woman at work tell me that it was "eww, gross" that I only washed my hair once or twice a week. My hair is dry. She had greasy looking skin. She was a lot younger than me, but still old enough to be divorced.

Clearly, people are different. Do what works for you. It ain't gross, despite what that woman said.

* And she really was stupid. She thought she knew what people were thinking and what they really meant by innocuous things they said. Toxic.

Maybe a couple times a week, though it probably wouldn't hurt to wash it more. Basically it gets dirty and then eventually I get around to washing it. I am part native american and otherwise of european decent...and my hair gets greasy fairly quick I can't even use conditioner or that speeds it up even more. I have pretty thin, straight hair, so I always try to find shampoo that will give it more body.

Every other day. Sometimes let it go 3. The second day my hair is more accepting of an iron and any sort of barrettes or grabbers. Caucasian, blond.

Daily to every other day, except when depressed, then all bets are of as to when it will be.

I wash mine every 2 days as it's not good for it to be washed every day. When feeling low/bad it will get washed once a week.

Once every third day. It doesn't get oily in between. Plus, I already use a flat iron nearly every day, so I don't want to dry it out any further (Caucasian blonde)

If I don't go out, I leave it for 2 days, otherwise it looks messy and I cant stand any bit of oil near the scalp, it just parts and I have balding near the front, and to keep that from looking real bad, gotta wash, and yeah I'm a woman losing her hair

Every other day. My hair will start to get oily at the end of the second day.

...but sometimes I may miss a day and get mixed up...because I get depressed and a day will pass by and I not know...
I just noticed this and it happened before...because my spouse said he was throwing out the Pizza and I said, " we just got it yesterday." He insisted we got it a few days ago. I don't know if I am right or he is. This has happened before.

Every day. It gets too oily otherwise, and I can't stand oily hair. I can wash my hair though, and a few hours later it'll be oily. I hate that. My hair is very long and straight and medium-thickness. I try to use conditioner once a week or so because my hair is pretty damaged from the last time I dyed it red.

At least once a day, often 2 or 3 times, depending on my schedule (especially swimming, gotta get the chlorine out). It gets a little dry, but nothing that a conditioner can't take care of. I keep it very short, just a little longer than a buzz cut, so it's no big deal. Same with the beard.

I have thick, dry, coarse hair that's also dyed bright red so I wash it about once a week to keep the color from fading and to keep it from looking dry. I might wash it more in the summer when it gets really humid…I just wait until my hair is oily (which is about a week give or take a day or two).
