Has anyone been following this news? I looked at the Met Office precipitation records and this last December and January have been well up in the top 10 of the last 100 years. In other words, two really bad months in a row. No wonder it's worse than I've ever seen it.

(I'm in Canada, but I have relatives in the UK. My relatives are OK, though.)

I'm in the UK, and yeah, we've got some flooding where I am, too. Lots and lots of rain. Actually snowing, right now. 'o.O

I've not been affected by flooding, but trees have gone down by my parents' house and things like that. And some fairly major localised floods on the roads, now I think about it. More than a little bit tired of near constant rain and high winds.
Thanks for this!

That's scary. :\ We have two trees right next to our house. :| One in particularly, if that would fall, might land directly on my parents' bedroom. :/

Its been bad down here in the South West (Cornwall). The flooding has been devastating for many people, but luckily not so much for us as we are inland. The wind has been a big problem, bringing down trees etc.

I am lucky that I live on a hill too but Wednesday was very windy here I have never heard wind like it blew my water butt off the wall in my garden.

Goverment should do something to help those in crisis about this, Residents talking on the news and how badly it has affected them it is heartbreaking.

Yes its very bad. I feel so sorry for the people affected. Yet again the government is dillydallying with helping. I live above the water table so I feel more secure. The winds though, phew. I nearly got blown backwards! I watched several houses big wheelie bins fall and take off with one big gust. I think of anyone trapped at home like older folk. Stay safe and ask for help from your neighbours fellow UKers.
Thanks for this!

Sorry for all the flooding, it happens here too every spring in various parts of the US. We are in for a lot this year as Pax and other systems have dumped so much snow on the ground, it is going to be a real mess this spring in a lot of places. I hope you folks there in the UK come out ok.

I know a lot of people thought the Top Gear "Hovervan" was funny, but Clarkson, May and Hammond might have been right after all

Well, I knew the winds were scary last night. All our huge trees at the front of our house have fallen across the road and onto the power lines! I'm hoping we don't have to pay for this?

A tree came down last night, right behind my step-mother's brother, as he was walking back here. The winds were really bad; apparently, they were something like 70mph. What really worries me (and got me really anxious, last night) is that there is a tree right above the house, towards my parents' bedroom, and I'm worried it'll fall over and land on the house. >.<

Seems like it's over, for now at least. No new flooding headlines today. First time in a while.

I live in a highly built up area which is on the top of a small hill, so I ain't been affected personally by floods. But the rest of Berkshire and most of the lower lying areas of Reading have got it to some degree. Some of my friends are pretty badly hit. Although the wind is really starting to piss me off.
