Granted, this is an old chestnut of a question, but I got asked it today and had to work to come up with an answer! Thought it would be interesting to see what others have to say.

Soooo .... What 5 people, living or dead, would you like to invite to a dinner party?

My list:

Kurt Vonnegut
Ben Bradlee
Napoleon
the apostle Paul
Marie Curie

5 people Let me see here 5 people

*My Momma(Passed Away) because I miss her dearly. Never a dull moment with my mom at the dinner table.
*President JFK because I learned he was a great president and I want to learn more about him.
*Preacher Martin Luther King, Jr. great cival right's leader and I want my daughter to learn more of him and what a great man he was.
*My Daughter Breanna so she gain knowledge. Basically soak up all of the intellegent conversation we would be having at the dinner table.
*My Boyfriend Wayne I always love having him by my side. He is a very intelligent man and he can carry on a great conversation.

Only 5 people? Tell ya what that was really, really hard to dwindle them down to 5 people.

Awesome question tho 5 people 5 people

WOW! That's quite a mixture! You wouldn't want to be giving some of these people a second chance, now would you? LOL

Mine would be:

Jesus
The Apostle Paul
The Apostle Peter
Maya Angelou
My mom

UMM... can I bring 6? Mother Teresa

My list is longer than 5 people.

Grandfather passed away.
Grandmother passed away.
Husband alive and kicking.
Twin daughters alive and kicking. ( I know counts as 2 )
Son alive and kicking.

I would give anything for my Grandparents to have had the chance to meet my husband and children.

It fascinates me that so many people are picking family members, who, presumably, you got to spend a fair amount of time with. Where's the intellectual curiosity, people? 5 people

I dunno. Maybe it's just because I hate my family. But I think it would be fascinating to meet, say, Leonardo Da Vinci and find out what made him tick.

But Candy, for those family members we loved, we would give anything to just spend one more hour with them.

I guess that's just so outside of my experience that I can't wrap my brain around it, Jan. I loved my dad, and I miss him, but it would never occur to me to ask for another hour with him. He's gone. It is what it is. You move on.

To spend an evening with people I admire for their brains or their creativity or the impact they had on mankind -- I dunno. I guess it's just me. I worry a lot about being remembered and wanting to make an impact on people's lives. Shallow, I know.
