I could not find a forum on beauty and health so here it is: I'm looking for natural hair dye (to cover grey) and I need walnut shells. I can not find walnuts with walnut shells in grocery stores. (Evidently, they don't make them anymore...) I don't think there is a Whole Foods store, etc. nearby. Where can I find walnuts with the shells? (I can buy ground shell powder online but I'm not that dedicated to this.)

(And btw, I am fed up with grocery stores and their products, locations, complete remodeling so you can't find the raisins, bottled water, bagels, etc. What happened to simple things? It drives you mad.)

There are walnut trees all over here. The walnuts fall from the trees in the fall, and lots of people don't have time to pick them all up, or the ability to use so many walnuts, and would be happy to have someone help pick them up and take some of them. Can you find people who have trees near you? I have a whole box of walnuts, still in the shells because I haven't had time to shell them. I'm in Utah though, and I don't know if it would be worth the shipping.

Out of interest, do you make hair dye from scratch yourself then? I'm always interested in hearing other people's recipes for beauty products.

why not try some of the henna mixes? Henndigo (henna and indigo) makes dark brown color.
