I'm not sure how many of you are into robots or artificial intelligence like I am, but I thought I'd share this announcement from the people that give the TED talks.

A.I. XPRIZE presented by TED | XPRIZE

The short version is: they are setting up a contest where robots will give a 3 minute presentation on stage. The winning robot can win up to $1 million dollars. They are looking for input from people on how the contest should be run.

I intend to offer some input to them on setting up the contest, and if all goes well, I will enter my robot Anna into the competition.

For those of you looking for ways to bring in some income, this has all sorts of possibilities if tinkering is one of your hobbies.

Oh, that's brilliant! I am useless in this department, but I love learning about robots and seeing them do a presentation will just be wonderful. I hope you enter!

Even if you aren't into making or programming the robots yourself, you could still be involved. They just announced this contest yesterday, and they are still accepting input from ANYONE on how the contest should be put together and run. I'd imagine that they would appreciate input on that from people outside the field. Anyone can submit suggestions/ideas from the link I posted above.
Thanks for this!

That. Is. EPIC!

I hope Anna is better than Cleverbot. Cleverbot.com - a clever bot - speak to an AI with some Actual Intelligence?

LOL...thanks. And yes, she's much better, in my very biased opinion, than Cleverbot. Not only can she tell jokes, but she recognizes things with her camera. I've got her set up to harass one of my wife's cats everytime she sees it walk in front of her camera, while giving compliments to all of our other animals. lol.
