I had no dream idols as a teen but now my idols are DeadMau5 and Skrillex who both produce dubstep. I've got tons of t-shirts and paraphernalia and I am also a shipper, a writer that pairs couples together in fan fiction. My best friend is also into them, more so Skrillex, but we jam out in the car to Skrillex. I also like using Tumblr to post my work, and there's other girls into the same thing. It's so much fun.

Who did you idolize as a teen/college student?
Thanks for this!

I love it when there's male pairings in fan fiction, my friends introduced me to "yaoi".

My favorite idol as of now is (this is going to sound outrageous), a playgirl model from 1998 named Tim Carlton who's stage name is "Todd Mane". He was known for his incredibly long and gorgeous blonde hair. I'm basing my style and looks off him, and trying to grow my hair all the way down to my back. I even have the identical chain necklace he wore in his photo shoots, and I watched one of his adult videos!!! ~Teehee

Ray Toro from My Chemical Romance...I wrote an MCR fanfiction with him as the main character. Not slash though.

Larry Bird

I LOVED basketball and would play 8 hours a day or more. I still had the old "If you believe hard enough all your dreams can come true" nonsense in my head. But after 4 years of playing against guards that were 6 inches taller than me and twice as fast I realized it didn't matter how much I practiced. I simply didn't have the tools to even go on and play in college. (That was the death of my second dream ...)

Check out them shorts!

When I was in middle school/early high school, I was big on Good Charlotte. I grew out of them, as things happen. People change and all. But I will admit. My chosen 'male' name was inspired by Benji of GC. Even though I don't listen to them anymore, I still go by Benji and far prefer it to my birth name.

Currently I'm big on Nate of Fun. Can't say why. Something just draws me to him, like a moth to a flame (to use a very lame cliche). Matthew Gray Gubler is another guy I'm pretty big on at the moment. MGG especially, I think. His pictures can almost always bring a smile to my face when they come up on my feed on Facebook. He's a dork, but I mean that as a compliment. Because weirdness is cool. I appreciate people who aren't afraid to be exactly who they are. And he seems to be one of those people.

I love The Neverending Story. The second one stunk on hot ice, but the first was awesome.

I was a teen in the '80s and back then I was very impressed by Jonna Lee (the actress, not the singer) who played Sandy in the campy horror-comedy movie 'The Midnight Hour'.

Never did have any dream idols......always thought how strange it was that my mother did (back it WWII)

TV was new when I was a kid & it was still black & white until I was in highschool......I was just never into TV or music.....was too interested in studying & in playing baseball in the street with the guys.....never had time for things that had no realism to them either....just wasn't me.

I'm not laughing at you ... that's just the last guy I ever thought would come up in these forums. Bunch of old frumpy frumps here ... me included.

I wish I could type out the way he says, "Maha!"

Don't laugh. My first major crush was on Davey Jones of the Monkees. Well, okay, go ahead and laugh.

I idolised eminem when he came about I was 12, couldn't have picked a worse role model. Within 5 years his music became awful and in my opinion his current stuff is total gash. I love rap. But don't idolise rappers just enjoy the beats lol

Oh how fun it is to look back...My idols were Eminem, Tiger Woods, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and for some odd reason I really looked up to Edgar Allen Poe (I have absolutely no idea why hahaha)

I see that Tiger Woods was a solid choice...not...but I still do like Eminem's old music and the rest of those people. But I don't have some strange affinity for EAP anymore though, so I'm sorry.

Keep in mind that I only really liked Tiger Woods because I golfed 9 hours a day every summer for 4 years...and my parents had me convinced that I would be superman...TW is a terrible person and a sissy in my opinion.

Gaylegg, fear not, for you are not alone....oh yeah, showin' my age, here...but of course I was barely what you could call a teen....

It wasn't long before I started developing crushes on THE MOST unobtainable people...kooky me. Always the dall, dark, mysterious ones...most of whom, their names elude me now. A lot of British actors (my Mom was big into her BBC shows)....

And of course, there were the Beatles, I went back and forth between George, Paul, and John so many times, I lost track. (THAT crush has lasted the longest!!!....still luvs'em all, always will...)

In college, I switched to artists that I idolized. Painters and metalworkers and art-jewelers, all of the greats of the time. STILL would love to meet most of them!!!

And, again, all the indie music dudes of the time. Bowie still tops that list.
