Did you ever hear Bill Evans' recording of "Spartacus Love Theme"? For twenty years now it has given me goose bumps every time I listen. Check it out. He was a heroin addict who committed suicide rather slowly, and the piece is full of irony, cynicism and sarcasm that makes me laugh with joy every time I hear it. Weird to laugh in the face of death but there it is.
