I avoid reading about the subject that triggers me. This means no newspapers and i avoid the news as well.
Thanks for this!

What's upsetting you? I think the answer depends on the trigger. If a friend or family member upsets me for some reason, I either tell them (calmly) or decide it's not worth bothering about in the big scheme of things and forget about it. With strangers/random people, I try to assume that they didn't mean anything by what they did.

To avoid triggers ... I could never leave my house. So ... trigger away and I'll figure it out from there.

Pikku, what are you worried about? Is there something happening that involves your daughter? Worrying about danger to a loved one is rational.

In terms of dealing with triggers, I'm with IT. When I'm in a bad place in life I avoid the things I know will trigger me. On the other hand, I've had periods in life where everything triggered me. I learned to ask myself if whatever triggered me was an actual physical danger to me. If it was not a danger I would tell myself I was safe. If it was a physical danger I'd tell myself I had a reason to be fearful and that I should get out of the situation.
