All my life it seems the only time I'm not ignored or forgotten is when I'm doing something wrong and I was wondering how it was you get people to notice you're more than a collection of failures?

I find that an out of control chimp with a baseball bat is a good way to get someone's attention:
![]() But all jokes aside, the only way I've found is to put in their face that you did good. Gloat ... seriously ... about what you did that was right and make an issue of it. Because the the things you do correctly don't make the world about them, but when you do something wrong, then they can get the attention by telling you about it.

Make sure you both look into the eyes when speaking, I've found this helps.

It helps to make statements not questions when you talk. It is called Uptalk and it unconsiously signals a lack of confidence even when not intended.
