Well, Chris (officemate) and I now have cop patrols past our houses, because we got threatened today. They knew the address here, and he's listed, but I'm not. But no sense taking chances.

They picked the wrong guy to impersonate a police officer and the police chief to, because Chris is the cops reporter and talks to those guys every morning. Really, it all would have been funny if they hadn't known how to track us down. One guy ID'd himself as a sergeant and said Chris had to come out to some address to be served a subpoena
for grand larceny. (This is the most disgustingly ultra-conservative religious-right kinda guy you will ever meet. Odds of him even speeding, much less committing grand larceny, are slim.)

When Chris said he didn't recognize the name and asked the guy who his chief was, the guy didn't know. Chris offered him Wayne's (chief's) number in exchange for his (so we could trace it). The guy passed off the phone to somebody else who introduced himself as Wayne Nehring!

So we've got at least two for impersonating an officer, if we can find them. Just so long as they don't find us first. They know our names and where our office is, obviously, and did threaten to come here.

This is a small town and consequently this is really creepy. But I suppose there are wackos even in sleepy small towns.

ah, the life of a reporter.

In other news, my primary care guy wouldn't give me anything for my raging insanity because I see a pdoc in a week anyway. He said if it got "out of control" to go to the ER.

Whoopsie! Horse been outta THAT barn for weeks. One more is only not that long if you aren't the one living the craziness!

Oh My Gosh! ah, the life of a reporter. You be careful, but not paranoid. That's something I have a habit of doing in the parking lot here.

Hugs,
