I am concerned about someone on this site

I didn't know where to post and I feel a little silly doing so! I was friends with originally Stranger in the corner who then changed his name to Skywoulf. I know he was having problems at home but his signature indicates he could be having serious problems and may even be homeless. If anyone knows him or has heard from him could they please leave a message for me I am so worried - he has just disappeared. Thank you so much xXx

I know its a bit nerve wracking when someone on here leaves without a word to their friends. Ive been here for about 5 years now and have seen many friends come and go, and some come back. theres even a service here where if members feel they are in danger an such they can pm one of those in authority and they can help with getting a name change. sometimes it turns out those who I was worried about because I havent "seen" or chatted with them in a while have changed their names.

after a while I got used to the name changing and the coming and goings by thinking about what goes in in real life between friends...outside of the computer it would be nice if friends constantly kept in touch every single day, giving details about their comings and goings in their life but even thats impossible. outside of computer life friends go on with their lives...going to work, going shopping, going on extended trips for the day or vacation and they dont always inform their friends. outside of the computer family, work and such have to come first...well thats the way it is here at psych central everyone comes and goes according to their own life situations, work, family....

Im glad when someone lets me know they have missed me when I have had to take a break from the computer due to my outside of the computer life but like I tell them, not everyone spends their day or visits everyday on computer chat rooms, social networks and health websites. Im not the type of person to have to check in constantly with people online. the only person outside of the computer that knows what Im doing 24/7 is my wife. my boss only knows what Im doing at work, my yoga class and instructor only knows what Im am doing in relation to the yoga class and I dont always attend every single class there either...

my point is Ive had to learn that people coming and going here on psych central is just a continuation of what real life is outside the computer.

my suggestion send that member you are worried about a pm, tell them your concerns and when they are ready and able to come back they can choose to reply or not about what kept them away. this way you may get the answer you need and that person will see that you are someone they may need to send you a quick pm saying, gotta split for a bit but be back soon when they need to take a break.
