Just when I think my skin is thickening and that I don't care what others think because this is MY life and I should just do what makes me happy and stay true to myself, something gets to me and I'm left feeling all weak and vulnerable again.
Even after everything I've been through in my life, I feel
like I'm somehow still impressionable and malleable like a child. Hmmmm .

I feel the very same, AL. I used to be much worse when I was younger. It seems that the older I get, the less I care; I dunno if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

EDIT: Well, I don't feel like the last line, but the rest, yes.

I would suggest that you read a book titles Can You Be Too Sensitive? It will help you realize that there is nothing wrong with being a sensitive person, and that there are advantages to being sensitive such as you are much more in tune with your intuition.

I find it's the feeling of being judged, that gets under my skin. Even when feeling confident and decent self esteem, it's the feeling of subjugation to another's opinion. At times, it stems from childhood, at other times, it's the worry that judgement can adversely affect sense of security.

Doesn't mean, you haven't made progress, just makes you human and perhaps a stronger sense of being more critical of self, so it's mind numbing when others take it to another level. Perhaps from trying to be pleasing? Not sure, but can happen no matter age or status of levels of therapy.

Well, it's a process. I don't think anyone is totally immune, either, because that's just not human.
