I've seen a number of picture compilations as well as videos of people dressed outrageously at Walmart. I was in Walmart this past week and I saw the same. I would not have been brave enough to whip out my camera phone, but OMG! One very obese lady was in her bathing suit. Another family had two high school girls who were dressed so provocatively with hip-huggers barely covering their bottoms! Anyway, just sharing my local observations. I thought this happened anywhere else but here!

But Seeker, you're in West Virginia
![]() I know what you mean, my stepson and sister-in-law send me the Walmart picture compilations all the time. Remember when we were children and had to wear white gloves and could not go out of the house in curlers? ![]()

We never....NEVER...shopped at Walmart ( in Indy) until we moved to Florida four years ago. Now, it's almost an everyday occurrence, for convenience sake, since the store is only 1.5 miles away. However, I must admit it isn't so bad. The local demographics help a lot, and the typical customer profile is about what we would expect at a super Target or Kohls up north. Nonetheless a typical "Walmart shopper" manages to crawl out of the woodwork from time to time.
I think there is a secret government plan to breed these people especially for shopping at "big box" stores, since they are rarely seen anywhere else. I know this sounds snobbish. Oh well ! |

Walmart might have to change its name to ScantySales if this behavior continues.

I have seen the picture compilations and just assumed that they were not representative of normal events. Turns out I was wrong?

The only thing I have noticed are people who come in looking like they do not care how they look: really dirty feet in flipflops; wrinkled crooked clothes; clothes look like from the rag bag; super dirty socks. Makes me think: dont they care even a little?

I just googled 'people at walmart'. Unbelievable! So glad I have not seen that kind of disrespect around here (disrespect of themselves and those around them).

Poor, disadvantaged, the ill, the fringes...where else can they shop? When I was a kid, a long time ago, there was a place near me that was called the Farmer's Market (maybe it was that once upon a time)---in a huge place, broken up by stalls, they sold everything from butchered meat (that hung, scenting the air in that area), to "vintage" clothing...too many things to count...and it was open 24/7; same people went there...
1950-60's style....(curlers, housecoats, leather jackets on greasy folks, barefoot kids up in the middle of the night, incredibly wild, and heavy makeup, toothless, penniless, scantily clad women, homeless ...lousy trailer parks...the unstable, the very poor, the lost).. But, though I go rarely...I remember one thing. When a friend blew a couple of discs in his back out, the Urgent Care wanted to throw him out because he fell on the floor, when he stumbled in Walmart, lots of these people came running to make sure he was okay, to ask if they could help, to show concern...

I know there are many poor and disadvantaged who choose to shop at Walmart. The people who grabbed my attention were not your poor. There are many who just don't care and will go to Walmart in bathing suit or scantily clad. Here, we have one very "famous" lawyer who cross dresses each Sunday and looks quite stunning, down to the long fake nails. I hadn't seen him before, but was behind him in the checkout line, thinking to myself, "that woman has really nice legs in her spike heels." Looking further, I realized I was behind the famous man whose attire was actually quite tasteful in his 6' plus physique!

The scary thing is that these people can buy guns at the same store.
![]() At least that's what I hear. |
