For example; I walk in circles while brushing my teeth or when on the phone. What are your weird habits?

Even though I talk to my cat out loud, I sometimes whisper to her even when no one else is around. lol

I talk to myself when trying to make a decision, especially in places like walmart. Then I answer myself. Yeah, I know what they say about answering yourself.

Walking in circles brushing your teeth does not sound weird to me :-) I am reminded of a friend from group therapy who had to pace/walk in circles all the time, even on his job (which got him into conflict with management :-) I think it is good "exercise".

Yes, I have two cats and talk to them, myself, my problems/body parts (at work I once got into an argument between my head and fingers/hands as to whose fault a typo was; my coworker was listening avidly but fell on the floor laughing when my fingers insulted my head and "I" entered to be peacemaker between the two of them, stand up for my head/not allow my fingers to be rude -- she said she was okay with the two voices but three????

When I'm on the landline I wrap the spiral cord around my finger until my finger is blue and I can't get loose.

If my friends annoy me I draw on them with a pen.

I walk around my apartment while I'm brushing my teeth. As soon as the toothpaste is on the brush, I'm out the bathroom and standing in front of the tv or a window. For whatever reason, I find it difficult to stand before the bathroom mirror. I do the same when I'm flossing too.

I have a hard time with dinner. For whatever reason. I know I'm going to get hungry, so I bring up the subject to wife: "We should figure out what we're having for dinner." She agrees. End of discussion. An hour later: me: "I'm hungry. We need to figure out what we're doing for dinner, and fast." Wife: "Yeah same." End of discussion. About 30 minutes later, in an annoyed fashion, we open the discussion and by this time I'm so hungry I can barely think. And so we keep trying to figure out what to make but by this point nothing sounds good and so I just end up saying "I don't want to eat anyway" and then when it's all said and done, we're eating dinner between 9-10 pm on a regular basis.
I can't explain it. It's always with dinner. Laziness? Apathy? Indecision? I dunno...

Whenever i open packets of food to make meals, i always have to have a bit first. Well, the already edible stuff anyhow.

I have to have a good smell of my pillow before i settle down to sleep. Almost as if it helps me find the best position to lay my head

I have to smell freshly washed clothes - guess i get paranoid about using enough detergent.

I could go on

I had to laugh in trying to visualize this, glok.

Yet when I stopped to think upon it, the possibilities where this might arise, I think of dementia, Alzheimer's . . . compassion arising.

Your perplexing posits are somewhat like koans, I find.

I don't have any odd habits, I'm perfectly normal

Except that I have to eat M&Ms sorted by color: yellow, orange, red, brown, blue and green. Also, the ones for holidays don't taste as good as the regular ones. Especially the Easter ones.

-jimi-, that cracked me up about the pen. Are you a Jigglypuff?

I'm curious about those of you that walk around while brushing your teeth... how does that work? You must be MUCH neater than me... I think I tend to... uh... slobber a bit while teeth-brushing. I would not want to leave the bathroom!

I do talk to myself. I tell stories about things that are happening, or about my history, as if someone else was listening. I don't know why - it feels like sometimes it's too big to just *think* - it needs out-loud articulating!
Thanks for this!

If I am talking on the phone or in deep thought, I walk around in circles, or if I can't - I pace from one side of the room to the other.

I paint my nails and bite off the color within the same day usually.

I talk to myself out loud pretty much everywhere...my room, my car, at work.

I eat the chocolate part of an ice cream sandwich or Klondike bar first and then eat the middle vanilla by itself.
