I collect salt dishes. The kind they used before shakers. Small containers that have little tiny spoons to dip the salt out with. I have quiet a collection, however, I have run out of room.

I collect everything and alphabetize it (OCD). My house does not look like those on "Hoarders", but open my cabinets gingerly.

On a personal note, Pure, it's very nice to see you here.

Gayle... I'm currently reading/listening to the Audible recording of The Autobiography of Benvenuto Cellini, who was a Renaissance artist along with Michelangelo. He created some magnificent "salt cellars," pictures available on Google images. These were commissioned by Popes and other royalty. His book is an amazing insight into the life of an artist during that time...kind of rollicking and raunchy at times.
I like that you collect salt dishes!

I no longer collect, in fact, have tried to rid myself of my collections. I collected old watches, watch and clock parts, vintage fashion jewelry, and my "tinys." I still have my tinys, which are tiny plastic figurines from gumball machines, fast food restaurants, etc. The most expensive one was a Marvin Martian and his dog, in which I got into a bidding war on Ebay. He's kind of precious!

I collect German Army militaria from WWII and photo books/photos related to the German Army in the war. Sadly, not being rich means I cannot yet do it as seriously as I wish, I can't afford big/rare stuff for now.

I collect 16" vinyl fashion dolls. They're more for the adult collector and can be expensive. I can't even look at the doll category on ebay anymore because there's at least one I have to have and think nothing about it when I run up my credit card. The thing is that once I have them, they're in their boxes in my closet and I don't even take them out to look. I guess it's the thrill of the hunt. But I wouldn't sell most of them for anything.

I collect white hob nail Fenton glassware and mouse figurines. A lot of the mice are Hallmark ornaments. Unfortunately my apt. is too small for me to display any of them.

This is a really fun thread.

I like collecting Garfield things. Its not a huge collection. I would really like to get a Garfield hand phone.

I also like cute mugs but they must be good to drink from. I got a mug covered with ladybugs at Christmas. As the lady birds are raised, washing it would mean chips losing the paint work. So the ladybird mug is just for looking at.

I forgot to mention my books. They are packed in air tight boxes and stored. I get one out as needed. Boy, I wish I had a bigger apartment.
