NWgirl, what a great picture! That's cool you actually took the pic.

My avatar shows that I am a fan of Sylvia Plath.
And also that I like to play with the Color Splash feature on FotoFlexer.

Hey Princess!

I have a Maine Coon and he is the sweetest, most loving cat in the world. I fell down the other day and my roommate helped me up and helped me to bed. He came zooming into the bedroom and squeezed in next to me and starting licking my face, hands, arms. He's a pretty smart little guy. Not exactly little-he weighs sixteen pounds and has paws the size of my palm.
He's nine now and I can see him getting a little bit older. He was there for me when my husband died and probably saved my life because I couldn't bear to leave him.

And I've never spoken to anyone with a M.C. cat that didn't just adore them. So I am right there with ya, Princess. They are very special.

First off I would like to thank the person who started this post for convincing me to get an avatar.

When I first started looking for a profile pic I had some problems because the size of the profile images made it difficult for me to use anything with any detail in it. This was difficult for me because of my huge fascination with fractals which can only be appreciated fully with higher resolution. So then I went through my computer to find cute pictures of cats.

The one I chose however turned out to be a combination of the two.

Even though i do not feel very silly today, but did yesterday, there is still silliness buried in me somewhere. When i saw it i let out a small chuckle. It lifted my mood so just had to pick it.

Interesting thread. My avatar is of Frida Khalo the artist who was injured and had a disability for most of her life. I associate many things with her such as intensity, perceptiveness, suffering, joy, beauty, uniqueness. She was courageous. I identify with her and admire her.

For Love&Toil: I adore Ms. Kahlo and her work, too. What an incredibly strong and courageous woman. I smiled when I saw her as your avatar.

Mine is from the collection of avatars here on this site: but it suits me--- because I am an artist who desires to create again, but so often, cannot. I've gotten the desire back, but have so little time to do it, even when I feel well enough to try.

So I mostly feel I exist in a swirling series of waves of different depths and intensities of blue.....can't quite reach the shore I want to get to.

Not yet.

I haven't a clue what it says about me, but it somehow reflects my essence so perfectly that not once have I changed it since the day I joined PC.

I like the dark essence of things, like death and darkness. I take a different approach to most views on like, I feel like being more open to things most people fear or find distorted help me feel more calm about it's general aspect. Instead of hiding or running in fear of such distortion, I embrace it with passion and optimism.

What does your avatar say about you?

(cuz I change now and then)

says I love nature, and the moon. Where I am free, even from what I perceive is me.
