I'm from Puerto Rico, though it would be nice to find out who can share the same culture with you. Share your country

United States, in a small, not very well known city in California. Won't say exactly where for privacy reasons.

I'm from Kansas in the United States. Pretty much dead center of the U.S. We have wheat ... and grass. Used to have lots of buffalo, but most of them are gone.

I spent my summers growing up from the age of 5-16 with my grandparents in Topeka KS.....lots of good memories from there. Got there just 2 weeks after that horrible tornado went through the city in 1966. That made quite an impression on this 13 year old at the time.

When I was able to pick any state to move to....I didn't choose to go back to Kansas however.....but it was a wonderful experience in my growing up years.

I'm originally from a small town somewhere in a desolate region of Quebec. Now, I live in my country's capital city on 111 Wellington Street with the rest of the politicians.

Lately not so many. This last summer I don't recall a single severe thunderstorm.

BUT ...

A couple years ago there were 3 tornadoes on the ground at the same time heading through our area. One passed about 5 blocks away from us to the west and the other was about 1/2 mile east and the biggest was about a mile east of us. It was pretty scary actually. We had 12 people from the neighborhood huddled together with us in our tornado shelter and could hear the one to the west pass by us. To me it's not like a train like they say, just massive wind (which it is).

I've been through quite a few tornadoes. There was one that I saw, an EF3, that was big enough to have two smaller ones circling it.

But all in all, over the years I've learned what to look for in the weather forecasts and atmosphere. It's spooky at times, but we have a hidey-hole so it's just part of living in Kansas.
