This is pic of me and my shovel. I am at rest. This pic was taken Saturday. Today I reshoveled the same canyon AGAIN. I learned today that "reshovel" is not a word, but should be.

I wish I could send you my shovel (and my snow), but it has 2 uses. I much prefer to use it to pick up beagle poop.

I will spend the rest of my day searching for my lost sense of humor.

Hey Baseline. Thanks so much for reminding me that summer is coming. I heard on the news the other day that if you worked in a hospital, it was okay to call 911 if you needed a ride. They must have been desperate if that was okay.

A giant truck rammed into my car, presumably because of all the snow. I say "presumably" because it just drove off so I figure the driver felt it was a matter of course to not stop at a red light if there's snow in the vicinity. My puppy and I were perfectly fine, just lost some paint in the back of the car. I've also been forced to drive over some potholes almost deep enough to fit my entire tire. All in all, I'm pleased that my tires, my puppy, and I are all intact.

While many of us two-legged creatures are done with this nonsense my puppy is having a blast diving in and out of the heaps of snow and eating snow gelatos! Having a puppy is really helping me through all this otherwise I don't think I'd manage.

I know in my heart that my efforts will be appreciated. Just so you know, my husband thought of you before I saw your reminder."

Knowing it would be appreciated helped motivate me to keep shoveling. I lost my balance and slid down the snow bank twice, but that is okay. I used that time to lay in my driveway and rest.

It is official though.... I have lost my sense of humor!!!!
Wicked awesome. I just watched oildude deliver my oil. (usually I hide in house from them). He easily walked the path from driveway to house. My efforts were worth it. AND It is snowing again!

My "friends" are hard at work helping me find my lost sense of humor. I love you all.

This made me laugh, a coworker made the comment when we got another 7" of snow, adding to our 73" already in the last 3 weeks, with news of getting even more this weekend into Monday...
"Ok, who was it that ticked off Queen Elsa?"

A friend of mine gave me her snow shovel when she moved from her house to her apartment. We actually don't get enough snow here to shovel IMO.....& on my farm, I just chunk around in what we get (couple of inches 6" max it seems) until it melts & never waste energy using a show shovel....but it does come it handy picking up the dead mice from off the basement floor that got into my decon. I'm not into getting any closer to them than I have to & the snow shovel works wonderful for that also.

We had a flurry blizzard today.....it was just flurries but they were blowing straight across the street horizontal to the ground...A new DQ desert.....flurry blizzards.

I second that....this is one of the most wimpy winters we've had since I moved here 7 years ago.....I WANT SNOW!!!!

Thank you for this it means a lot to me. It has been a very interesting/thought provoking/strange/annoying/stressful/weird 2015. You have no idea how knowing that I made someone laugh means to me. check this out if you have a minute http://forums.psychcentral.com/coffe...ugh-today.html or http://forums.psychcentral.com/psych...therapist.html I am learning how important laughter can be.

Thanks Mindful, but I so did not need to know that. Today I did give the next city over from me a B plus for their snow removal efforts. For 3 weeks I have had to grab ahold of the meter and climb through a snow bank to get to therapy. Today that snow bank was gone and the meter was out of order. Can life get any better than that?

I don't think we ever really loose our sense of humor because it's sort of the quirky way we have of looking at things & the way we have of expressing the quirky way we see them.

Great threads. Even at my lowest, I would see things in ways that would just look funny to me. It was always just the way my brain works not something that can be turned off or on.

Mostly now it's my crazy critters that keep me laughing. I have one dog that has the most crazy sense of humor I have ever experienced. It keeps my sense of humor alive & well on a minute by minute basis.

LOL....I always thought it was a challenge to paint white snow on white canvas.....painting that New England portrait of snow on top of snow is even more challenging.......& no shading with shadow because the sun never comes out either.

Well, we may actually get a little of your show tonight & tomorrow.....first time we may have a good snow this whole winter season.....maybe if we are lucky....8-12 inches....but more like 1-3. I'm kinda guessing that it will be the larger amount because my pain specialist appointment got messed up last week & I had to reschedule ANOTHER appointment on Monday They forgot to sign my prescription & they messed up scheduling the procedure that really helps my migraines. So obviously because I desperately need the appointment we will probably get the 8-12 inches of snow & they will probably close the roads & close the practice.......

Doesn't it ALWAYS work that way???????

Okay, we had 3 feet of snow and everyone was well prepared for it. Most towns did a great job with snow removal. No problem.

A week later I got 1.5 feet. I was prepared for only 1 foot. The snow removal folk did not do such a great job this time. I spun around and around on my country back road and got hit by a snow bank.

Today I was promised "only 4 inches". That is so funny. They lied. My therapist almost canceled our appointment, but after talking to me, she found the motivation to try and make it to work. The roads turned out to be worse than I thought. I am grateful she attempted to go to work.

The only good thing I can say is that because that snow bank hit me the other day, I was much more cautious when driving today. I have lived in New England my whole life. I have never and will never let snow stop me. I even had fun playing in my driveway trying to get out. Yes, I have a 4 wheel drive SUV and I still got stuck. The fun part was trying to get unstuck.

I was in WalMart the other day. They are ready. All of there Christmas crap is gone. They have replaced it all with many many gas grills and bird food. It made me smile. There is hope, prepare for spring.

Vent!!!! You know you want to!!!!

Hi Emwell,

I've got snow drifts over my head even in my own front yard!

It's windy too. I guess we're getting even more tonight.

It's all light and fluffy at least.
