I'm the 3rd shift manager at a gas station. Just carded a guy for cigarettes and his response was so ludicrous I had to share:

Me: I need to see your ID so I can enter your birth date
Him: That's BS..This is Nazi Germany that's what this is. Tobacco is all natural you shouldn't even have to be any age to smoke it. I could go grow my own if I wasn't so lazy. You're like the gestapo and this is nothing but nazi Germany all over again..It's COMPLETE BS.
Me: REALLY?? So you having to show ID for an age restricted item is EXACTLY as bad as 14,000,000 people being killed in prison camps huh? Those are equal to you?
Him: Yeah because it's exactly the same principle which is government interference in our lives. So yes it's all equally bad.

In case you are wondering he opted to not get the smokes because it was all just BS

Fortunately I don't have to deal with that here. We don't have a license to sell alcohol in our gas station. In fact I really can't think of any gas stations here that have alcohol. It might be a state thing and we don't allow it.

Now in Tennessee where some of my family is they have drive thru liquor stores. I have NO idea who thought that was a good idea.

I miss drive thru alcohol. We use to have that in Oklahoma to Missouri. Not here in NOLA where everyone drinks! Lol

Was he intoxicated by any chance?...some people really do have that much of a chip on their shoulder they look for any reason to be kind of a jerk, but drunk people can also get pretty illogical especially if they happen to get angry while intoxicated.

Either way it was certainly more about them than anything you did, so hopefully you don't feel bad about the incident...like you should have done anything different. But that is ridiculous...I mean I can see people grudgingly pulling it out thinking they look old enough so they shouldn't have to, but not usually going off like that about it.

He did not appear to be intoxicated. Oh I don't feel bad at all...well except for knowing there are people that think the atrocities committed during war are the same thing as being inconvenienced by showing your ID

I am well suited to customer service because while I'm being paid I never take anything to heart. People can cuss, scream, be stupid, rant and what have you and I will just plaster a smile to my face or a look of concern (whatever the situation calls for) and deal with it. As soon as they walk away I just shake it off. Not my monkeys, not my mess.

Every once in awhile I will hear something so ludicrous (like this) that I can't help but share.
Thanks for this!

Probably the same dumbarse who thought that its not okay to drink and drive but parking lots at bars were a total necessity....;p
On another note speaking of "some people" ya'll should listen to George Carlin's skit "People I Could Do Without..." Enough said...
