In honor of the Bubbler thread - or inspired by the Bubbler thread - I thought it would be fun to exchange words and guess their meanings. Let's see who can come up with the best meaning for a word (true or not).

So either post a word for people to define, define one that's been posted, or vote for a best definition. (Remember to include what the word is in your post.)

The first word is scree.

I have two: the first is pirogue' and the second is neutral ground. Both local words for things down this way.

Yeah Muffy. That is a pirogue'. You need good balance to stay afloat in this type of boat.

I like that!

I know the definition, but I prefer to make them up instead.

How about scree is the residue left behind after a barnacle has been removed from the hull of a boat.

Yeah, a pirogue' is a boat used in marshes and swamps down in louisiana. And a neutral ground is name we call a median (the ground between the highway). It originated a long time back when the city was seperated by the french and italian. It was the meeting spot, the neutral ground. And the name just stuck.
