I am watching the top two college football teams in the nation, The Ohio State and Indiana, duke it out for the number one spot. It's turning out to be an interesting game. OSU is leading but Indiana is hanging on and refusing to admit defeat.

What sporting events do you like to watch?

Used to watch NASCAR and Drag Racing all the time. I started watching NASCAR in 1970 but haven`t watched it for several years now. When all your heroes are long retired or have passed away, there wasn`t much sense in watching anymore. I still have a few memories left but I am starting to lose those now.......

I love watching college football, pro football, March madness, and pretty much the playoffs in any sport.

Not really into sports, but I like strongman competitions, Olympic weightlifting and monster trucks. I do enjoy watching KU basketball occasionally.

I'm not a huge sports fan but I'll watch a bit here & there...

Currently I'm watching the big games of the Rugby World Cup, I also watch the 6 Nations rugby when it is on too.

I sometimes watch the latter stages of the World Cup (football/soccer) although not always.

When the Olympics is on I'll usually watch the Athletics, Swimming & Cycling. In the past I've also watched some of the Winter Olympics but haven't for many years now.

I usually also watch some of the tennis at Wimbledon, I used to watch a lot of it but these days I'll just tune in for the big matches.

I got into watching the NBA a few years ago when they used to broadcast a few games on one of our UK channels. They stopped doing that but I did subscribe to League Pass for a couple of years... I slowly seem to have lost interest though.

Having said I'm not a huge sports fan, I guess I do watch a fair amount of sports overall...

I don't like watching sports, any sport. IMO professional sports has gotten out of hand. Was much better back in the day when ordinary folks could afford to take a family and hang out, now the price is ridiculous. I've never found watching on tv to be entertaining. Give me old stock car races and demo derbies before the races had to get sponsored by businesses. Much better back then...the vroom, bang, dirt, smells of hotdogs mixing with gas...yeah that's a sport. Especially if your dad was one of the racers!

I agree about the cost of attending sports. Even when I was married and we had two incomes I couldn't afford to take my family to a single game or match. Heck, even taking a family to a night at the movies has become cost prohibitive.

The only professional sports I have ever watched live were when I was either working (I was an on call security guard), I was a volunteer (ie. selling 50/50 tickets), or was given a ticket. I am what you would call an armchair enthusiast.

My children however were involved in sports - one intensely. It seemed I was always at a game or match of some sort.
Thanks for this!

The only sport I watch is Hockey. Its fast exciting and tough.
Everything I like in a sport. It always blows my mind when
people who are into sports are not big hockey fans.
You cant beat live Hockey. Its the best IMHO.

That depends on the season: CFL and NFL football, the big Bowl games in university football on New Year's Day, Major League Baseball, men's tennis (my two favourites are Roger Federer and Milos Raonic), some NHL hockey, curling, and other sports that I can't think of right now.

The first time I saw curling I didn't really get why people liked it but I gotta
admit it grows on you and you start to get into it after a while.

I agree. Who knew sliding a huge stone on some ice while people try to change its direction with brooms would make for a fascinating sport? It reminds me a bit of playing marbles, but with the big stones, and brooms, and ice of course. I first really got into it this past winter Olympics. Dad and I would watch it over other sports being broadcasted.

I enjoy watching my team play baseball. (St. Louis Cardinals) Sometimes I can get down and watch football but very rarely.

I personally prefer professional football rather than college ball but occasionally I catch a college game. I prefer to watch hockey over all other sports.

So happy there is another Hockey person on here.
I kinda like the Lightning because I have family in that area so
I have always kinda been a fan but Jersey comes first with me.

Ah, I love Hockey, Soccer and Baseball; I will watch Basket Ball and American Football when it is the end of season (NBA Finals and Superbowl). I also don't mind watching a golf tourney every so often, though I usually nap during them, however I like golf a lot. I like to also watch Volley Ball, Soft Ball, Skiing and Decathlon in the Olympics. Oh and I almost forgot the "Sweet Science" I am a huge boxing fan. However I watch little of the above much any more because I don't own a TV, so I get it when I can. Go Michigan (Hail to the Victors), not huge on college sports but I do love my Wolverines and I hope Ohio loses, Michigan State too.
Thanks for this!
