Hey this is always my favourite thread on every forum. A place to discuss and post photos of stuff you've bought I'm a big shopaholic so I'll post a lot!

Starting with these t shirts I bought yesterday, Batman, Superman and my favourite line from Frozen. I also got an Olaf (from Frozen) onesie in the post today, plus I bought tickets to a show called West End Women (it's a musicals thing)

Awesome, I've only bought a couple of small gifts so far, stocking fillers. I'll have to start some serious Christmas shopping now!

No pics to post, but I've bought about 8 new pair of dress pants recently. They're pretty awesome. Going to really wake up my wardrobe. New shirts on the way too. Oh, almost forgot, have four pair of shoes coming in. All kinds of exciting.
Thanks for this!

Awesome! ..thread.

I recently shelled out for a highish-end gaming computer; it's a bit of an animal. Pretty proud, since I had to salvage my old rig, build the new one, do the cable management (none-modular PSU... -__-) and ... then install and set up Windows. x_x Took over 6 hours to have it all sorted, but it was worth it! To be fair, it was the first time I'd fitted an Intel CPU/cooler, unless you count P2s from way back when.

The shopping thread

The shopping thread

The tower itself has cost me about £1000. x_x If you include the OS, that is. (OS was around £80) May have been more if you take into account things like cables and the thermal paste, ... actually, luckily the cooler (Hyper 212 EVO) came with Cooler Master paste.

It has amazing performance.

Specs are:

Zalmon Z11 case with the red fan theme, with tons of storage space, great cable management support, and sleek design.
CPU is the i5 4690K @ Stock, typically the sweet-spot for the upper-end of gaming performance.
GPU is the ASUS 760 OC @ Stock, which uses 2x 8-pin power sockets, and has 2GB video RAM.
DDR3 RAM is Corsair XM3 1600MHz currently @ 1333MHz, since the difference between the two is negligible.
Motherboard is the modern ASUS Z97-K with its UEFI BIOS that hosts a lot of useful features, such as limited DC 3-pin fan control.
PSU is the Corsair TX750 Enthusiast Edition, sadly none-modular; I've had it for quite some times, and it's done the job well.
HDDs are 1x 500GB, 1x 1TB, and 1x 1TB external. All S-ATA 3, of course. xD
CD drive... is some CD/DVD RW that I can't remember.
OS is Windows 8.1

I plan to add an SSD at some point, but it's pretty fast without, so I dunno if that'll happen. I'd like to replace the front fan (powered by Molex) as it's a bit too loud of my liking.

If you're curious, I use an ASUS IPS monitor, 23", and 1080p

Performance is basically all the modern games play at ultra or near to ultra with 60fps constant, at 1080p, unless they're badly optimised, which, nowadays, they often are. xD

I play Farcry 3, Borderlands 2, Sleeping Dogs, and Skyrim at the moment, all at 60fps with max or near-max settings. I'm loving Skyrim as it's got over 20 graphical mods; looks pretty cool, and runs at a sweet 60fps, with max settings, too!

Prior to this PC, I had an AMD FX-4100 @ the highest of 4.2GHz which was a good CPU, but it was seriously bottlenecking my ASUS 760 OC, so I'm very glad I went with such a good gaming Intel CPU.

As for temps: after over 4 hours of gaming on Farcry 3, the rig hit 78c on the GPU, and 66c on the CPU, both perfectly safe, 'though ideally, I'd like the GPU to be a few degrees lower, but it's nothing to worry about. My window was closed and the rig heated my room up nicely. Totally saves on central heating as I just play games and my room gets toasty in no time.

Sorry if that was a little too much info, but you asked!

I collect hand blown glass pumpkins and there was one that was unique, but WAY too expensive that I loved. Just checked back yesterday, not only was it still there but was 75% off; it is home with me now. That was my splurge and bargain; however, what was not, I just spent an arm and a leg at the pet store, being out of everything, for the dogs and fish. Thank goodness for the frequent buyer program and rewards dollars.

I love when that happens!

Today I bought a tattoo, then I went to this bargain shop and got a few stuff that I need for Christmas, just little gifts that I always buy, and I bought the pets presents too funnily enough. Just that and stuff I had to get out of the way so I can go and do the real shopping!

I also got myself a book about my favourite tv show (Skins), another Frozen sponge and a dog money box, as well as a couple of toiletries.

I just thought of a question to further the discussion here. what are your shopping obsessions, ie things you're obsessed with looking at/buying?

Mine are books and toiletries. My kindle, which was a gift, has been an absolute god send cheap and free books, no waiting or postage costs etc, I love it!

I have this weird mascara fetish tied to my OCD. I just keep buying the stuff...
My most recent luxury purchase (that I should not have made but couldn't stop myself from doing): A collection of 7 different trial-sized "prestige" mascaras.

In the past I've considered creating a mascara review blog. I mean, I'm already reviewing them for myself, so...

You should do it! Why not? You could even do video blogs, they're fun.

I have to force myself not to go into book shops or buy more toiletries when I already have ten million at home lol.

Saw your tat in the other thread, very nice

And to answer your question:
Clothes
Books
Glasses, Sunglasses especially designer (I am near sighted so all would be prescription)
Owl stuff

I hope it's okay if I post some of my big upcoming purchases in the next several months?

I'm going to be buying a Treadmill and a Beginners Yoga DVD

Another purchase would be the membership fee for Weight Watchers, I'm joining in February and buying their starter kit too which includes recipes, calculator, points for food, food journal

Sometime in the summer I'm going to be buying prescription designer sunglasses. Maybe Ray Ban, not sure yet. Something classic that I will be able to wear for a long time.

For more recent purchases, I bought my mom a new flannel shirt for Christmas, and am going to be getting her an electric fireplace.

I'm buying a white artificial 6foot 5 Christmas tree pre lit with blue lifts, silver garland, red and white ball ornaments, and a gold star to put on top. We already have a green tree we put in the living room with an angel on top but I wanted it to feel like Christmas all throughout the house so white tree will go in my room.

I usually plan my big purchases way ahead of time. I'm obsessed with shopping even if its not for myself.

Thank you and of course, that would be great, I love to see what people buy! Good luck with weight watchers and the exercise. The tree sounds amazing! I want to visit your house lol. I like buying clothes too. My most expensive pair of sunglasses were 4 euro lol. I usually forget to wear them anyway so no point getting good ones. And I have a cute pink owl wallet

I've been doing a lot of Christmas shopping both in stores and online. I've bought some really nice gifts including 2 wristlets from the Michael Kors website that were on sale. My goddaughter and her sister will love them! Now that one of my nieces is a teenager, I've also bought her some branded items. Oddly, I continue to buy myself the most inexpensive items to wear and sadly, the dress shoes I ordered to wear on job interviews did not fit. (I have oddly shaped and sized feet.)

I have 149 books on my kindle book wishlist, and 196 books on my goodreads to-read list. And that's to even mention all the kindle and real books I already have but haven't read yet. So you're not alone!
