I got the Irish gifts I ordered for when I meet my favourite band next year! I have more or less all my Christmas gifts too now. Yesterday I got more Frozen stuff for myself, a jumper and another t shirt, and another pair of Christmas trousers.

Amazon says my order should be delivered on Sunday by 8 pm. How are they sending it? Who delivers on Sunday?

And since they won't be able to get in it's all for nothing anyway and I won't have gifts to give my friend!

I've been doing a lot of my shopping online this year and find I'm getting a little impulsive. I'm trying to find a balance between buying and the amount of money I need to spend.

I ordered a bunch of fabric for a stadium blanket and over bought and I'm glad I did because one of the fabrics was the wrong color. It didn't look like it did online and I couldn't find it in any of my local stores. Now I'm frustrated and have spent a lot of money on it for it to now be a disappointment. But I did learn a valuable lesson. Don't try to match fabric online.

I had success with my other Christmas purchases, but I spent more than I intended.

I actually haven't bought many gifts online this year compared to usual. I can't be bothered with the whole having to pay postage and then wait, and the worry they won't come on time. Also, it's safer right now to only buy what I can pay for with cash at the time, credit card buys not so safe right now! I already have loads to pay for.

I am so disappointed in myself and a place my Mom loves to order from. I ordered something for her birthday that they are usually so good, that I wrapped this beautiful sweater that she wanted and ordered months ago. She opened it last night and it is the wrong size. I called them and they no longer have it. It is my fault for not checking it when it came. It just never occurred to me as they are usually so good. I feel awful. I quickly rewrapped one of her Christmas presents instead; she is thrilled with it and did not know I knew she wanted it too, so all is well but I am heartsick as she had her heart set on this sweater.

I also thought I was all set for the holidays and now am scrambling. She is so hard to buy for. What on earth was I thinking not checking it?! I guess I was too thrilled by the moment as well to get her something I knew she really wanted. Ha. Looked how that turned out. At least they will return it either for a refund or exchange, if interested, very apologetic, with additional store credit that they already emailed me, showed up in my email this morning. I asked her to pick out several things from their catalog in case there was something else from there that she might like as I know how much she likes their things to surprise her with but now she is saying she doesn't want or need anything. Arghhhh. That is not the point; she deserves something nice or fun as we have been through hell this last year, she needs a treat and it's Christmas. I hate last minute crap though. I just cannot get over, what was I thinking, as if that is not the number one rule, check it when you get it!!!!!!

Wow this thread shames me! Usually I am an avid shopper but this year have been balking when it comes to Christmas! Not sure what I am going to do, but when shopping online I have not found anything that excites me whatsoever. I have four grandchildren to shop for!

It has to be just right and I know I am running out of time. Any suggestions?

What are their ages and what type of shows/movies/music are they into?

Just bought a Lil Bub 2015 wall calendar on Amazon, I can't wait to get it. Look up Lil Bub the cat if you don't know who she is, she's absolutely adorable!

FL Girl

What I did this year; money is very limited; bought some little gifts (arts/crafts, board games, sticker books) then filled the sockings with little trinkets & candy.
Hope this gives you some ideas.

I have to mention two great bargains I got. In the Christmas market I got this little statue of a girl in pink and it says thank you, I got that for my mam. Now I have bought one of these before and I'm sure it was at least 20 euro, but this one was only 5 plus it was for charity as well, (and it was actually nicer) then I was at a Christmas fair and I got a fairy door (they are really popular here right now) for 5 euro again, they are also usually 22 euro I think, the one I got was made by a youth club, it's lovely though. I got one for myself lol I might post photos later. I'm too lazy to move right now lol.

Have they seen the movie Frozen? It's out on DVD now, I know it's really popular especially with little girls

Not only have they seen it, they have it practically memorized. Yes, Frozen toys/clothes/pillows are all the rage this year and last year I hear. I looked for the light up Elsa doll, the main character and I've looked for the 'Olaf' the snowmen pillows and such. Just ruining out of time to order online! Remind me to never loan someone money that I cannot get back until late December. Duh!!!

Oh well, I will end up getting them something and the holidays will be over this time next month! Hallelujah!

I have been so good lately, no impulse buying and only planned purchases, until yesterday and I blew it finishing up my Christmas shopping, totally blew it but ABSOLUTELY love it. I am calling it my Christmas present to myself. It is an absolutely useless piece except for decoration but it makes me smile. I will be eating P,B & Js for lunches at work for the lunch the next several weeks to make up for it so it hopefully it will KEEP me smiling meanwhile.
