Does anyone know any cool crochet stitches that are somewhat easy for a beginner to try? I know how to do single stitch and now taught myself double stitch but I want to try something more exciting.

Who else finds it very therapeutic to knit/crochet?

Crochet is like meditating to me ... I crochet every morning while I drink my coffee ... it is a great way to start the day. I like the half-double crochet stitch, which is a nice cross between single and double crochet. Thanks for this ...

I prefer just the single stitch. I love crochet.

I'm a knitter...love knitting lace....but do just normal knitting/ designing patterns or just enjoying simple knitting relaxing from already created patterns that I usually modify to make them the way I want them to turn out anyway.

I found a stitch that I really love.....it's a crochet stitch but have seen it adapted for knitting.....it's the dragon pattern where it looks like scales laying on top of each other.....really cool look.

There are so many great stitches it would be hard to pick just one. I kind of like a hdc, which is a half double crochet stitch. You might want to check out YouTube, they have a lot of how-to videos.

There are many good websites that have tutorials and patterns. Here is one I just sent to my granddaughter: How to Fasten Off Yarn in Crochet - For Dummies
