It's going to be a large wedding with 200 guests and a sit down dinner reception. I've gone over and done Mom's hair. I can do other people's hair fine - just not my own. I hope she does't take a nap. Then her hair will be ruined and she'll tell everyone I fixed it.

I haven't been to so large a function since I became disabled. I'm excited and scared. Oddly enough the wedding and reception are in the same place we held large meetings, dinners and banquets when I worked. I was in charge of all of them. Deja vue. (sp?)

(I have an event to go to too, a roast that I'm expected to participate in... and I don't think I can do it.) I truly hope you can go and have at least a little enjoyment! (If not more so, like employees know you and gad about you telling you how good you're looking )

In 6 weeks my "baby" (23 yrs. 6'4" son) is getting married. Not really looking forward to all those PEOPLE but I'll survive.
Tonight I spoke with my son's future mother-in-law and we were discussing how many boxes of kleenex to get.

The wedding was beautiful. The bride looked like Cinderella. The groom was so handsome and everyone and everything was beautiful.

Mom did well and didn't squish her hair too much. My future sister-in-law helped me bunches with her and that was very nice.

I purchase a dark parchment colored tunic that had princess seaming and was cut low. I bought a matching crinkle skirt of red and parchment and wore parchment colored shoes.

My hair is longer than medium but shorter than long. I curled it all and just let it loosen before I sprayed it.

They had a first rate vocalist and he did modern country western and then they were going to have a DJ and karioki (sp?) for later.

I was prepared to have a wonderful time including dancing, but I had not realized that all the people from the church I attended when I was married would be there. They all innocently asked me questions that just cut me to the quick. I managed it for 3 1/2 hrs and finally went to the ladies room to try to make myself not cry. It didn't work, so I dried my eyes the best I could, put on a smile, retrieved my purse and literally escaped.

I met a lot of nice people and did the best I could.

They didn't mean to make me sad. They hadn't seen me for a long time and each one of them shook my hand or hugged me. They meant no harm.

Thank you for the compliments about how I looked. I tried so hard.

I also forgot to mention that I managed not to fall in the pool!
