So basically you don't like Ebonics. It basically comes from how people really spoke in the South, it survived as a dialect in a certain group of people while others ceased to speak that way.

It is a reminder of the past, not a modern disintegration of language.

IDK if they are peeves but they puzzle me... how someone can think homemade wine that is made by cleanly people must be dirty and factory wine has to be clean, that meat from the store is fine but killing for meat or fish is immoral... and claim that "germs" are worse than such a strong cleaner you get asthma from it...

aggressive drivers who ride on my tail and pass when it isn't safe to do so and then speed away in a burst because they just have to get home 3.43 minutes sooner so they can watch football and drink beer

I hate it when people at work play the music on their phones without using earbuds.... on top of the muzak and intercom.

Whistling. I don't know anyone who can whistle well and people always whistle out of tune just to hear themselves.

Religious folks who consider themselves to be the moral authority, despite being sexist, racist & homophobic jackasses. They aren't saving anyone by trying to make them as ignorant as they are.

one of my biggest pet peeves is hearing someone chewing their food... kind of like when people smack their gum really loud, but with food. It just irks me

Shoes

Okay don't get me wrong.

I know shoes are a basic essentilal.

But some people have shoes as accessories.

Just open their closet and see all of the fancy glittery shoes that fall out - half of which have only ever been worn once only for a special occassion and will never be worn again. Maybe donate them to a good charity or auction them off or do something useful.

People who ride the clutch at junctions, and then let it up with a jerk (she knows who I mean). You lift the clutch slowly and apply gentle pressure to the accelerator and move off slowly and smoothly with minimum stress on the drive train. How difficult is that?

This reminded me of a lady I knew when I was a child. After she got bored of chewing and popping her big piece of gum she would pull on the wad that was between her teeth to slowly stretch it out until it was a sufficient length to wrap it around her index finger. Once it was wrapped around her finger she would put it back in her mouth. Elsie the gum lady! Apparently she still does this. Yuck.

People who cannot drink responsibly and act stupid is my biggest pet peeve. They are not fun to be with even though they think they are. How much hollering at sporting events do they have to do?

Oh got another one. Narcissists who don't realize they are narcissists and frequently talk about narcissists.
