I don't suppose most people know who deadmau5 is. He is an EDM/House/electronic music producer. I discovered him a couple years ago and I have really invested my time and heart getting to know him through twitter and his own website where I've met some great fans and made great friends in the chat room. He's the kind of guy who tweets every second of the day about what he's doing and what he's feeling or thinking. He prides himself on being the King of Troll and has a sarcastic wit about him. But what I love about him most is his dedication for fans. He goes through depression sometimes (I think he's bipolar, being bipolar myself, but he's never said anything about his mental health) because most of the time he considers himself a failure, but he goes above and beyond to making his fans happy.

Last night was the Gumball Rally, an international race where millionaires and celebrities drive all around the world in crazy expensive cars, and they made a pit stop in San Francisco. I waited in SF for 8 hours waiting to see Joel. I met up with another mau5 fan who kept me company. I'll skip the details, but finally after 8 hours of waiting Joel drives up in a white McClaren with spades decals on it. I started screaming for Joel and he couldn't hear me, so I decided to wait until he started walking over. I had my mau5head, a mouse-shaped helmet that Joel wears during his shows, with the eyes glowing and as he walked on by he saw me and came over to me. I said hello, and then he took a quick look around before stealing my mau5head and running off with it, throwing it on his head and dancing around all crazy before returning it to me. My friend and I's mouth dropped in total shock, and then he left. When we snapped back to reality we chased after him and right before he got into an SUV to go to his hotel we were calling after him. He turned around and signed my mau5head and we said good night for him. It happened so fast and both my friend and I were in total shock and awe and amazement. My friend happened to be a photographer and took some amazing photos.

I really wanted to share how awesome my experience was, because initially I had invited my date and my best friend and they both flaked at the last minute and I was almost too depressed to go and almost didn't bring my mau5head, and if it wasn't for my mau5head Joel never would have saw me.

Here are some pictures of the Gumball Rally!

Very nice story and very nice pictures by your photographer frined. Awesome!

Even for a layperson that lives outside of House/electronic music scene, I've seen/heard of his name and his trademark logo somewhere before. idk, maybe I'm reading too much into this or misreading, but anyhow, he was exactly what you thought he was when he came back again and again, for the mau5head and the autograph. I'm happy for you that you had a great time meeting up with your idol/hero for real.

After 8 hrs wait and some 'if it wasn't..', you had the greatest sparkling moments, Thanks for sharing that with us, and hope that you've had a good rest after all that excitement.

I wish you all the best and the many more sparklings in your life, may I suggest you go get another mau5head? I say, what you have right now became a museum piece over night. just sayin..

What fun! Glad you had the courage, and took the chance to go.

Oh to have the energy and excitement of youth back, again!

That's awesome! Congrats!

Side note ... my sons are always trying lick Deadmau5 to score points in Goat Simulator. Yes, it's as weird as it sounds.
