ah, this song! i mean the world today just doesn't seem to be in touch with the true and real things that the human soul is meant to experience.

"imagine there's no heaven" (at least to me) this doesn't mean there isn't a heaven. but it is merely about human morals, and how God intended us as human souls to live life on this planet. and that does not mean there is no heaven, but the words in this song are actually to me just about that. how the afterlife will actually be.

Keep Chins Up! AND DREAM ON

Thanks for this inspirational post here Thought.

I like thinking about the meanings of songs too.

I made a blog about one of Sir Paul McCartney's songs (Four Five Seconds) that was released with Rihanna and Kanye West with a similar intent - I personally believe that some, certainly not all, mistake the song for being one which advocates violence, when that is far from the case.

For me personally - yes when I act with good intent at the best of times people think I'm pretty ignorant. I'm not ignorant. Well this is just my take on the song others will have a different spin on it.

Here's the song it's pretty cool

(I've picked this one merely because of the commonality to the Beatles there with the 2 artists)

I can't speak for John Lennon, but I always took that line to mean "What if the things that divide us were no more?" (religion and politics can divide. Organized religion does not equal god, IMHO)

My personal opinion of Imagine lyrics: Imagine a world where we are all equal. There is no money, no finance decisions, or monetary baloney. There is no religious differences. We all simply care about one another. We are all in the world together. Peaceful.

That is what Imagine means to me.

I do believe the song is about Buddhist spiritual philosophy, the philosophy John Lennon followed.
