I decided to bake a bread. From scratch. With yeast, the whole bang shoot.

Had to knead the dough for 10 minutes. I have now left it to rise.

Then I must break it into rolls, dip in a garlic dipping sauce, leave it to rise for another 30 minutes before baking.

I so hope this turns out okay.

I also made a huge pot of bean soup. Guess what the family is having tonight.

I've been enjoying my time in the kitchen lately. Yesterday I made oatmeal cookies and fudge.

I must really wear an apron though. I've just noticed my floury, doughy shirt.

Will let you know the results!

The bread (rolls) looks fantastic. It smells even better. But it tastes just like ............ bread!! I thought it would be tastier. Phooey! Don't think I'll go to all that effort for something that tastes better shop bought. But it was fun trying. At least I know I can do it!

I think the smell of baking bread is worth the work....even if the taste isn't that great, the smell of the house while doing it's wonderful.

It's fun to try things we haven't done before,,,,sounds like you are enjoying playing around in the kitchen....sounds like fun

freshly baked bread is honestly the best smell in the world!
between that and fresh cinnamon buns!

it's funny how our minds hold on to certain smells, I can genuinely almost feel the scent now!
reminds me...i need to eat! lol
Thanks for this!
