One of my favorite sayings is "The problem with common sense is that it's not common." My husband was a brilliant man, but he had absolutely NO common sense. Here's a link to a test so you can find out how much common sense you have. I scored 100%

Common sense runs through me like 'Brighton' in a stick of seaside rock. The test said I had common sense even though I have no idea what the 4th of July or Mr Mckinley are.

I took the quiz and got 'average common sense'. That's probably correct.

I always thought I had a whole lot of common sense...especially compared to the H I lived with for 33 years who didn't even have a pinch of common sense.....will be interesting to see what the test says.....LOL...maybe I felt like I had so much because it was in comparison with NONE & anything would feel like a lot compared to him.

Did it actually say 100%.....I know that I answered them all right but it kept saying "above average....too smart to be fooled."

LOL...some cute tricky questions.

Lol you didn't need to know any of that for the test. It wasn't testing knowledge, just the common sense. 4th of July is just a date and Everest was the tallest regardless if it was discovered or not

LOL....& a man can't marry his widow's sister because HE'S DEAD!!!!

It also wasn't Adam that had the ark..

I liked the one about how many 5's can you take away from 25?

They are those subtle tricky questions but great to get the mind thinking about what the question is really asking.

It claims I have above average common sense. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go untie the shoelaces I accidentally tied together.

I've never had a whole lot of common sense. It takes me doing something wrong a dozen times before I actually see the true error of what I did. That being said, I really try to be self aware and not be that way. It is truly very hard when it does not come naturally.

Lol On2

Lol, there definitely is nothing common about it, I have to keep reminding myself of that when I get frustrated and annoyed with other people.

Oh, I think it's common....I just think there are a lot of people who were never taught to have common sense & thus never developed it themselves....but then there are some who's minds just DON'T work that way but think in reality they are in the minority. I was married to one of the latter but I had no idea there was a reason so I had NO PATIENCE. Figured he had a high IQ that he bragged about then I should expect a reasonable level of intelligence which I equated to common sense.....I was miserably disappointed. Had no idea what that high IQ he bragged about REALLY MEANT....it meant that there were only a few things that he could to that were only related to that high IQ.....high IQ isn't across the board that's for sure.

HOnestly I would rather have a lower IQ & high common sense to get along in this world in ways even these questions don't get into.

Mine said above average, but did not give a score. I think these questions are not about common sense. They are about reading the question carefully so you understand what is actually being asked.
Many times in my life I have been told I have no common sense.
Thanks for this!

Many times in my life I have been told I have no common sense.

Being aware of needing to actually read the questions as well as being able to comprehend them kind of is a sign of common
Sense

I wonder how the maker of this quiz defines common sense. To me it seems more like a logic puzzle and trick questions.

Apparently common sense is having sound judgment in practical matters.

The one that was a bit hard for me to answer was the widow one. Even though the husband is dead, the widow's sister could marry him, and since marriage is a team effort he will be marrying her. It depends on the laws of a particular place.

The man could have also faked his death or just left his wife for her sister. It did not say that the man was actually dead.
