I started participating in forums a few years ago, and I'm not sure whether it is good or bad. I have no friends in real life. I spend a lot of time with my mother, and I chat with people at work sometimes.

I suppose what I seek on forums is to explain who I am and get some positive feedback to feel like I have some value? Unfortunately, that needy approach turns people off, so I always find that people get tired of me. So I move from forum to forum.

Sometimes I think I should stop using forums. I didn't need them before I started using them. IDK.

Noooooooo, stay on the forums ok you seem like a nice person and we here at the forum would like for you to stay and continue to be part of this community.

I don't see there being a problem with being needy. You can't help it. Don't let other people's reactions to you, put you off.
Thanks for this!

Thanks, @Dog on a Tree ,
Mostly I come to this forum to ask questions about psychology. I don't have useful advice to offer other people in most cases, so I usually don't hang around after I ask my question. The forums where I waste my time tend to be for religious discussion. I share my own experiences and opinions with people who eventually grow bored of listening and patting me on the shoulder. So I just migrate from forum to forum like a nomad.

Typing my thoughts helps me when I'm depressed and having a hard time motivating (especially in the morning). Listening to music helps too.

Hopefully being on this forum helps in some way. Even if you don't think you have anything useful to say, that doesn't matter at all =)

I understand about the religious discussion, you could always start a thread about anything in religion that interests you. Also there are groups on the forums you can join, some of which are religious groups? I know there's a jesus group on here.

Anyways you are staying right?
Thanks for this!

Yeah, I will try to think of things to say. Sometimes I just feel like I bore people to death.

I do like this forum for psychological questions. I used to belong to another psychological forum, but there was not much activity. Here they make a great effort to respond to questions so that people don't feel ignored. That is important when the members might be depressed.

Thanks I guess I didn't have any friends or social life before I started using forums, so at least they are not making that part worse.
