Are You A Visual, Auditory or Kinesthetic Learner Test

It seems I am largely auditory, which is what I thought but I scored reasonably highly in the other categories too...

Auditory - 80%
Kinesthetic - 71.43%
Visual - 60%

In case anyone doesn't bother reading to the end of the passage below the results, here is the summary of the three types:

Quote:
If You Are A “Visual” Person:

You …
  • Learn by seeing images (diagrams, graphs, symbols, etc.)
  • Are usually well-groomed and appearance orientated.
  • Excel well in detail orientated jobs.
  • Have an artistic flair.
  • Use phrases like: “I see what you mean”, “That looks horrible!”, “I love watching the birds”.

If You Are An “Auditory” Person:

You …
  • Love listening to music, and learn well this way.
  • Are usually skilled with spoken languages.
  • Are skilled at negotiation and persuasion.
  • Learn best by listening to others (lectures, audio recordings, TEDtalks, etc).
  • Use phrases like: “That sounds excellent!”, “Yeah – I hear you”, “That rings a bell”.

If You Are A “Kinesthetic” Person:

You …
  • Focus on emotions and feelings.
  • Respond well to physical contact such as hugs.
  • Enjoy physical activities such as playing sport, doing yoga or dancing.
  • Learn in a “hands-on” way (experimentation, building, creating).
  • Use phrases like: “I feel“, “I can grasp that”, “I can’t handle it!”

strangely, i'm Kinesthetic.

I say strangely because in the summery of what they are, their's a lot that does not really apply to me.. I don't enjoy sports, I don't respond well to hugs/ physical contact, but I do have to do something- if someone tells me something it's forgotten. so I actually have to do it so it sinks in (and even then sometimes it won't. lol)

If you call reading about something visual then that is my primary learning style. Then it would be kinesthetic - to a large degree. I really don't learn very well by hearing someone lecture me what to do. University was really difficult for me on this point. As a leader I always tried to use as much kinesthetic as possible. Show then demonstrate understanding. I am very much a learn-as-i-go type of person.

Kinesthetic 94.29%
Visual 51.43%

No surprise to me. Listening to lectures in school if I could take notes on what was said I was fine. If I just had to listen, I was lost.

Yeah I know what you mean, I came across other quizzes that had questions with answers that were either auditory, visual or kinaesthetic... problem is I couldn't choose because I used more than one type.

Like you say for lectures, you've got the auditory element listening to the lecturer but then if you are writing notes which I then might highlight in different colours, that's visual I think. Then when it comes to revision, I used to read my notes out loud to memorize them, so again auditory. In practice it's a mixture of learning types.

Somewhat surprises me because I'm definitely very artistic and good at languages, and have always been very drawn towards music. But at the same time, I do prefer hands-on learning. I also do find myself saying "I feel" a lot, lol. I'm surprised I scored so high for "visual" because I really don't comprehend anything from looking at manuals.

I scored nearly equal on all three, though I think I learn especially well by doing things hands-on. I feel that I learn the least by listening to something though I do better when I am listening, watching, and writing. So I guess this is accurate.

I always thought myself to be a kinesthetic, as I tend to learn things on my own. According to my mother, I've been that way since I was a baby.
It can be a bit difficult to understand verbal instructions, a problem I'm honestly rather self-conscious about, but once I start doing whatever it is on my own, I tend to pick up pretty quickly. I'm not emotional, I despise being touched, and I simply am not any good at physical things that involve any sort of coordination.
Although the description of a visual-learner seems to fit me better than that of a kinesthetic-learner, I've never found information easier to absorb when adorned with pictures or graphs. I think of things in terms of stories (when I look at an inkblot, I don't see one image. I see characters, setting, a beginning, middle, and end) which I suppose would be a sort of visualization, wouldn't you say?
I am certain I am not an auditory-learner. I've been told I pick up foreign languages easily, but again, that is because I teach myself.

I'm surprised I scored crap on auditory because I am not an auditory learner at all. If I can't read it or try it for myself forget it.

It surprises me all the time that most people are not aware of how they learn. Every time I have to train a new employee I ask them what's the best way for them to learn: Listen to me explain what to do, read the manual, dive in and try for themselves or a combination. Most have no clue

Auditory, 54.
Kinesiology, 60
Visual, 85

Not surprised at the visual since I'm deaf, but that I even got 50 on the audio did surprise me.
