Does anybody watch this show? I have just wasted an hour of my life on it, which I regret greatly.

Ick.

"America's Got Talent"

Can I ask whatever happened to good old-fashioned "scripted" television? I have just watched my last "reality" show and hope someday again a hit show will spring from a talented person's creativity. I miss those days.

I'm also embarrassed for my profession -- former newspaper wonderkid Piers Morgan is a judge on this sorry excuse for a show! One more reason print and broadcast should never mix....although he's certainly telegenic.

BLEAH. I feel icky now. To heck with TV -- I'm going to go read a book!

My current book is "Presidents and the Press" -- I'm a geek -- what can I say "America's Got Talent". Who's your favorite author? I could use some nice light fiction "America's Got Talent".

I watched it last night and it will be the last - the "honesty" that was dished out to the children was beyond my imagination. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

This show will never even reach the nether regions of where I live, though I have seen something about it (I think on Ellen DeGeneres). Glad to know I am not missing out on anything!

Sabrina, according to their publicity machine, it's such a hit that it's spawned imitations around the globe. The American version might not get to you (and be very, very grateful for that!), but that's not to say you won't end up with a homegrown version!

Eeck! I can only hope we don't get a homegrown version - somehow though, I can't see that happening.

We were lucky to see American Idol, albeit with a delay of 2 weeks ... but that was only due to the fact that I pay a small fortune each month to have the equivalent of Cable TV. (I think).

The winner of the last show that I saw on Ellen was this little 12 year old with a voice and a half but one (for me) that couldn't sing at all ........

And that was 2006 I think - we don't even get Ellen until a year later ...??

Nah, I thing South Africa is safe from "America's got Talent"!

Off topic...didn't know you were from South Africa - my roommate was there for 3 weeks in April...

Not that it means anything - just thought it was a little interesting.

I don't mention where I am from too often. Good thing that there will probably never be a South Africa's Got Talent show. I shudder to even think about it!

The only thing I really watch on tv is CSI Las Vegas- I like Grissom. "America's Got Talent" and sometimes I'll watch Star Trek Next Generation because I like Captain Picard. "America's Got Talent"
I'll occasionally tune into House, Everybody loves Raymond, Simpsons or Without a trace or one of those dectective shows.
I can't stand reality television anymore. All of the people on them aren't real people-they're a bunch of wanna be actors and actresses trying to get their foot in the door. Hardly "REAL".
Yippeee! CSI is on tonight!! "America's Got Talent"
