I got a call Monday from friend /neighbor who are going to be home after all so having dinner. It's a challenge only being able to eat soft things. I'm actually cooking up a Cushaw & making Cushaw pie. I had one a few years ago & liked it better than pumpkin. The Cushaw squash is huge so I can make many pies to share. Also make a delicious cranberry/mellow salad that uses ginger ale for the liquid & the jellied cranberry sauce dissolved in raspberry jello. Yummy. Get to make my favorites this time of year that I'm too lazy to make the rest of the year.

We had our church thanksgiving dinner last Sunday after church. Several of us went to get one of our members who is now in the extended care at the hospital (not able to live alone any longer). My friend & I go to visit her after church every Sunday & always get a chuckle about her talking about the food there....green beans 2 times a day....ugh? I was fixing her plate for her at out church dinner & I made sure NOT to put any green beans on her plate.... I know that she definitely didn't miss them. We got a good laugh about NO GREEN BEANS. They aren't my favorite either unless really seasoned up to be really flavorful

Jan, you beat me to it! I was going to start a virtual Thanksgiving thread.

Seems like we have a lot of desserts so far. I'll bake a bunch of sweet potatoes and bake a green bean casserole.

Eskie reminded me about the beans...I'll bring the green bean casserole, the one with green beans mushroom soup and those onion things. I'll bring some of my yam potatoes with honey and butter.

Oh...I'll bring some biskets too, never enough biskets to go around. They get used for the leftovers too.

Green beans are not half bad if you cook them slow with bacon and some butter. Who wants to bring rolls

For those not in the USA you can still come

Okay everyone now that you have made me incredibly hungry, what about having a party in the chat room on Thanksgiving Day from 3pm-5pm or later EST? Stop by and see what is happening.

It does not have to be an organized thing. If you are in the area, you just might see a room entitled. Party for Thanksgiving Day

What do you think? It is definitely BYOF. Bring your own food. Last party they tried to get me to eat those emoticons. I tasted them and they were not too good. LOL

Enyone up for a trip back in time? If so I'll bring the lime jello salad, a nut dish with a nutcracker and fondu treats.
