I have all my life had trouble coming up with the next word in a sentence, even though it's something I've said thousands of times before. I'm a language guy too, so it's doubly weird. No matter what I do I never can seem to complete a sentence normally, and others often will finish for me. Usually I will say a word I didn't mean to say, sometimes the word just escapes my mind completely. Is this a condition, or is it something like confidence?

It could be something neurological. Or it could be nothing. I wouldn't worry.

If you do well in writing I would suspect you have a slight issue multitasking. People think talking is one thing, but you get activation both in the part of the brain that processes speech and the part that produces speech. There could also be a damage to the part producing speech even if that is more unlikely. Also I wonder if you are right handed or a true leftie. Many lefties have language in both sides of the brain and have to always connect between hemispheres when using language. For some it can be an advantage, for some a disadvantage.

Before I left my bad marriage of 33 years I was horribly stressed & I noticed I had a horrible time trying to find the right wordntonfinish the sentence. Once I left & my stress grew less & also was taking the Omega-3 fish oil, I was shocked that I was not struggling to remember the words. Only once in awhile do I have the problem & then it's usually only one word out of a long time of conversation. I know lack of stress helps butbsondoesnthe omega 3 DHA?
I write left handed but do sports & other things right handed & many things I do with either hand.
