Anyone ever get that mail order puzzle catalogue in the mail called "Bits and Pieces"? It had the most interesting gizmos and puzzle ideas in it. 3D puzzles, wooden puzzles, little metal keyring type puzzles, and most importantly, a bunch of different kinds of good old fashioned jigsaw puzzles.

I would steal away with the catalogue and spend hours pouring over the pages in my room. Kind of like a teenage boy with dirty magazines. My personal favorite items were the puzzle mat that could roll up and stow away puzzles for later, and the puzzle table with drawers and stuff. I really wanted those. I never got one of those. Maybe it was the 200+ dollar price tag?

Anyways, just thought I'd bring up puzzle related childhood memories I had and share them with you all.

Artchic, I get the Bits and Pieces catalog and am on their e-mail list. Lots of lovely looking puzzles. I some times pick up the novelty stuff for presents.

Nice. I'm now enamored by some colorfully glitter enhanced puzzles I saw in the latest catalogue to come in the mail. MUST RESIST....wallet can't take it....Christmas presents took the heft out of my funds.

I tried a 3D puzzle once. I disliked how cheap the pieces felt. Thin image on top, then something like Styrofoam and then a thin backing. The top image would also peel easily. Sadly, I gave up pretty quickly. I felt bad that I had wasted money, but more so that I gave up.

I love jigsaw puzzles, too. I did some when I was in mental wards. I can't deal with the 1000 piece ones. Pieces too small. I have bought a couple of used ones and hope all the pieces are there when I end up putting them together.

I have a couple of older Donald Duck puzzles and a few KISS puzzles. I would like to find some more of the Donald Duck puzzles sometime but then I will just be adding more junk to my pile.
Thanks for this!

Anybody do colored pencils with real intricate geometric pictures in mental hospitals? I did tons of those. Still do. Calming.

You've inspired me to buy some puzzles to do. I went to bitsandpieces.com and ordered two 1000 piece puzzles and as a bonus, they will throw in a random 1000 piece puzzle for free. So I'm getting 3 in total. I can't wait till they get here!
