Does anyone do this? I have been trying it/doing it for about a year now, with varying albeit small degrees of success, but things have just taken a drastic turn for the worst and I am currently fighting depression, so am just wondering, do people think it works - or is it just load of hooey??
Small things have happened.. I tried it for my career and also for money (and did have some small amounts (less than $10 come to me). I was definitely not successful with the career attraction though ![]() So my main question is do you think you can manifest tangible events/things from just your self belief and using the LOA? If you mean by being positive, you attract positive... yes, I do. I also like to visualize things happening and sometimes they come true. I know people who are very negative and sure enough bad things happen to them a lot.

This law of attraction is philosophical rather than physical. I don't believe in it in an absolute sense because it says we attract ALL good and bad. That means rape victims attracted their attackers because of something inside of them. Nope, nope, nope! That's victim blaming. I do believe that if we are positive then we can see positive things come our way......but not in an absolute sense. It's not automatic.

Opposites do attract. But research shows that they have a difficult time sustaining relationships in the long run.

But if opposites attract but don't stay together and likes constantly repel, then what sense does anything make?

I think that when we put work and effort into visualizing what we want we are increasing our powers of observation. We are more likely to see things - no matter how small - come our way or occur that perhaps we would have otherwise missed.

I think a belief can't be evaluated without looking at the decisions that belief affects. For example, if you tell me that you are planning to bet your life that the law of attraction will deliver a fortune tomorrow, then I would say that belief in the law of attraction is wrong.
What you described doesn't sound too extreme, so maybe the belief is o.k. for you. Some mental illnesses might be aggravated by those kinds of beliefs though. I can't find any examples where scientists have tested the law of attraction. Hopefully the universe will continue to give you some help when you need it ![]() |

I do believe in the power of "positive thinking" (as well as the opposite), but i do not believe that it gives anyone magical powers. You must picture your victory if you want to achieve it.
You can use "positive thinking" as one of the tools to help you push forward and achieve your goals, and that's about it. But "Law of Attraction"? That's sounds to me like some fancy term shaped into a trademark for selling books. My opinion, of course. Quote:
