Not at all. Most people don't keep them anyway.

No , it's not mandatory. Thank goodness as I hate making resolutions. Is it mandatory to have new year resolutions?

I'm going to start and sit down and reflect how my year went rather than making a resolution. There are many reasons why we should be happy throughout the year but all that fails if we don't happen to meet our resolution? It's silly. I wish you all the best in 2016!

It's not mandatory, and how often are they ever even followed? Though, I think I might actually make one this year. And try damn hard to accomplish what I need to.

The only mandatory thing in life is our eventual crossover into the afterlife

No way. I always had to make them as a kid in school, hated it. But I did make one on my own this year- to lose weight.

In my opinion not beating yourself up for not having New Years resolutions is something that is more important than having them. Only have them if they're healthy. A lot of people have them. Don't follow through. Then feel bad they didn't. It's like this vicious little circle. If you can have New Years resolutions. Not feel bad about them if they don't work. Then that or not having them at all and being ok with that is better.
