Anybody else here interested in lucid dreaming? I've been practicing it off and on for a while. I've become lucid dozens of times, but actually staying in the dream after I'm lucid and being able to realistically control things has been much more difficult. I've decided to convince myself that it's actually EASY to stay vivid in the dream and control my dream universe, because it's my own brain I'm working with, and more so than with anything else in life, what you believe becomes true.

I only go so far as to write down any dreams that I remain conscious of, to self analyze. I'm pretty tired by the time my head hits the pillow and am awake rather early. Taking time to attempt a lucid state while single handedly being responsible for three minor children isn't in my cards.

I've had some small successes with lucid dreaming. It's not something I've tried in a fair while though because I find it affects my quality of sleep.
I found the trick to staying in your lucid dream & controlling it, is to take baby steps. It's best just to look around your surroundings & explore without trying to do anything over the top like flying for example. I think eventually you'll be able to be more adventurous, but it's almost as if anything too exciting wakes you up. You just got to keep at it, you'll get there. ![]()

Loial does bring up a good point, though, that it's best to take baby steps. I always get too excited and pressured when I realize I'm in a dream, and "through my bony fingers it does slip, like a snowflake in a fiery grip!" |

I would be SO HAPPY if I could manage to control my own dreams! I dream almost every night but for whatever reason I just can't seem to get the lucid thing to work at all; I'm always at the mercy of whatever my brain spews out next. It's weird because often my dreams are extremely realistic and vivid, sometimes feeling even more real than real life... But lucidity totally escapes me.
