It's National Hugging Day today, January 21! I wish I had known sooner, I would have made sure to distribute a bunch of them among my local compatriots...

"National Hugging Day has been held annually on Jan. 21 since 1986." Who knew? Certainly not me.

I did not know that! When the "boyfriend pillow" came out a few years ago though, I believe that was their doing as well..

January 21 is National Hugging Day

I guess it's an improvement. I never know where to put my inside arm.

Thanks for this!

This is depressing because I got exactly 0 hugs today. Not that I even have anyone in my life to hug other than my parents and hugging them is just... uncomfortable. Neither of them was ever really the hugging type I guess.

Oh and on the subject of Japanese things, I seriously have a dakimakura on my bed. It's a body pillow with images of an anime girl on either side -- mai waifu, in fact! I shall be hugging her tight tonight in lieu of a real person!

...I feel so pathetic. Someone kill me please.

Japanese culture is beautiful, polite, generally pacifistic, thoughtful, intelligent ...

And they invented hentai ... soooo ... yeah, weird too.

(But again, like those of us in the United States have room to talk ...)

I think that this is the first year that I've ever noticed National Hug Day as well. I don't recall this holiday in previous years. Happy belated Hug Day everyone!
