I'm eating lunch and realized I have a very odd habit. When I eat soup I pick the meat out of it and throw it away. I don't really know why but I do.

So anyone else out there have a weird habit(s) or know someone that does?

I obsessivley folow the same paths around my home - even when there is a shorter route to get from here to there.
Thanks for this!

I tap my fingers to the syllables of things I repeat in my head over and over

The faster my fingers are going the more I can tell I'm stressed, or bored same habit for both feelings

My exe had to smell EVERYTHING before he wore it. Didn't matter if it was straight out of the dryer or something he dug out of the dresser.

He also wouldn't eat/drink anything without smelling it. He'd open a can of Pepsi and sniff it before he took a drink

When I was a kid, I had this habit of eating the cereal parts of Lucky Charms at first, and then eating the marshmallow parts. I guess I was saving the best for last or something. lol

I still do that to a certain extent. I only eat one thing on my plate at a time. AND if I have my way I like everything in separate dishes but not always feasible. I start with what I like least and move up to my fave. I've always been that way.

LOVE buffets because I can get some green beans on a plate, eat them, then get another plate for carrots, then one for potatoes etc...

Sometimes it is a mouth texture thing more than flavor like/dislike.
Mashed potato creamy vs fried potato crispy
onion bits squishy vs onion rings crunchy
eggs scrambled dry/wet vs poached hard/soft
...
A lot of people especially children do not like mixed foods like casseroles (they will eat each ingredient individually but mix them together and it (for them) is not food anymore.

I also do this. Everything has to smell right or I won't wear or eat it.

Just thought of this. I can't sleep in bed that's made. I have to pull everything but the fitted sheet loose and make a nest. Apparently I am a creature of habit and they are all weird

Nothing weird about that, you have to eat all the Cap'n Crunch before you eat any of the Crunch Berries, to do otherwise would be illogical.

I get up earlier than I need to. I have a huge need to ease into a new day. I just cannot "hit the floor running". It adds to my anxiety tremendously.

I refuse to eat tomatoes slices by others…more a compulsion than a habit I guess

Whenever i walk by a hallway or a open door; i always look inside of it, twice.
Before moving on...

They pose as humans even though they have no understanding of the human heart; they eat even though they've never experienced hunger; they study even though they have no interest in academics; they seek friendship even though they do not know how to love. If I were to encounter such monsters, I would likely be eaten by them... because in truth, I am that monster.
