You gotta do what makes you happy.
I hope you enjoy having it.

Ooh awesome.
I have mine done as well. It hurts afterwards but not much. I don't wear mine so much these days but it leaves a hole scar forever. Good luck.

I once met a woman who had her nose pierced, and she claimed it hurt more to get it done than childbirth. Maybe she was exaggerating, but either way, I don't like pain, nor the asymmetry a nose ring brings to the face. Asymmetry bothers me badly. So, I personally won't be getting one. I also am a wimp when it comes to pain. Hell, I kicked the lady piercing my ears when I was 7. She was not a happy lady after that.

So anyways, if you have any tolerance for pain, which I don't seem to have, and it's something that will make you happy, than I'm all for supporting you in doing it. Go have fun and remember to follow what ever instructions the man or woman doing the piercing will give you regarding care for it. Nothing worse than getting an infected nose piercing.

I got it done! It actually hurt a lot less then I thought it would. It took like 5 min and it was over and I was confused like... did you put the thing in my nose yet?
Thanks for this!

Awesome. Just keep it clean and infection free. Like I said, nothing is worse than having an infected nose piercing.

Geez, the way people go on about something as simple as a nostril piercing! More painful than childbirth....pfffft.

I had mine pierced about 17 years ago & I've had it double-pierced twice (didn't keep the second piercing either time, though). The pain was moderate but just for a split second, the healing process is a bit tricky as the piercing is a little sore. Just take good care of cleaning it and such and don't be tempted to switch out your jewelry too soon - that's really important. I've always enjoyed my nostril piercing a lot, never regretted it a bit.

Enjoy!

Do what brings you joy.
This life is your journey and nobody else can live it for you.
I started getting tattoos after I turned 50 and I love them.
They bring me great joy and the actual experience of getting
tattooed is a cool journey in itself. At this age I could care
less what anyone thinks, this is the first time in my adult life
that I am doing things for me and it brings a great feeling of
freedom. So get your nose pierced if that's what you want
and enjoy it.

My mother got a second ear piercing, this time on the upper part of her ear, when she was 58ish, and then got second lobe piercings soon thereafter. She then got her first tattoo with her younger sister a year later. It was right after her mother, a very conservative and devout Catholic woman, passed away, and sort of way of mourning her, and liberating themselves from their upbringing. I found it a beautiful experience.

Her tattoo is of two bluebirds flying upward, against a background of a dogwood branch in bloom, and covers a good portion of her right shoulder and back. A very beautiful tattoo for the very beautiful experience she went through.

I sort of envy her, and am considering getting a tattoo myself, but have no clue what I want or where on my body I would have it. It's a very permanent thing to have done, so I want to be sure of what I want, and to be very happy with it.

I guess my point is, you're never too old to start getting tattoos or pierced. There is no age limit for such things.
