Sure, let's blame the organization for the adult's lack of self-control. Let's blame the organization instead of the adults who trampled on 2- and 4-year olds, with one kid bloody and a 2 year old pushed into the mud, in order to steal eggs from little kids and destroying baskets in order to get free candy. Sure, put the blame on someone else, let's not take any responsibility for their own disgusting, pathetic actions.

Immature adults. Somebody needs some reparenting to learn manners.

That's why when people ask, "What's Wrong With Kids These Days?", I simply reply, "The Adults Around Them!".

It's a shame we lay the blame on the minds, bodies and souls of children by abusing (discipline?) them when the sad fact of the matter is they can only reflect back to us exactly who, what and how we're teaching them to be through our own irresponsible adult behaviors!

This is just a reflection of American society in general. We've been taught to win at all costs and to get yours before someone else gets it. Everyone just follows the message, just like a mob. Individually, people probably don't think this way, but in any competitive situation, many throw that thinking out the window. It's core psychology, a fascinating study on how and why people behave the way they do.

That's not what I call "adult-ly" behavior. These guys need some maturity and fast!

With 9,000 eggs for 1,000 people how much of a free candy event were people really thinking that this could be? Rushing the gates, pretty much before it truly started? Ummm? Carry some of your own and tell your kids, hey look, think you missed one! Ugh...

My boys grew up playing Ice Hockey and I spent two years coaching
when they were around 10 years old.
The kids were fun and for the most part easy to coach.
The Parents were a nightmare and always complaining.
Many of them acted in ways they should be ashamed of.

About being a hockey dad reminds there was another egg hunt fiasco in Vermont and there was a story in the Boston Globe about it. I think the article began with a hockey dad reference. I took it more as a more generalized concept in the sense that this doesn't just happen in youth hockey, but the idea of unsportsmanlike conduct in parenting is the same.
