¤ Notice how your breath flows into your mouth and down into your lungs, nothing else matters

¤ Let go, let go, just let it go

¤ Ask yourself a few essential questions:
1) Did I remember to take my meds?
2) Have I eaten or had anything to drink?
3) Did something happen to make me feel upset?

¤ Change your environment, maybe you need to be alone for awhile or perhaps you need to be around people

¤ Locate any pain or discomfort, then breathe and release the pressure

¤ Reorganise your room – a clean room equals a relaxed mind

¤ Cleanse your skin – start by moving your body and let it sweat naturally, green teas (ginger is the perfect ingredient to detox), drink lots of water, take a hot bath or a cold shower, stretch your muscles and get rid of any blockages so your blood can run ceaselessly

¤ Avoid any distractions, for instance you could turn your phone off if you don’t want to talk to anyone, especially if you can’t explain why - they’ll understand

¤ Surround yourself with things you associate with warmth and positivity

¤ Listen to:
5.55 (Charlotte Gainsbourg)
The Take Off and Landing of Everything (Elbow)
Dusty In Memphis (Dusty Springfield)
Eastern Sounds (Yusef Lateef)
The Absence (Melody Gardot)
Peace and Love (Dadawah)
Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Thyme (Simon & Garfunkel)

¤ Read:
Essential Rumi
Silk (Alessandro Baricco)
The Old Man and the Sea (Ernest Hemingway)
A Room With A View (E.M. Forster)
Jonathan Livingston Seagull (Richard Bach)
Out of Africa (Karen Blixen)
Norwegian Wood (Haruki Murakami)
Woolgathering (Patti Smith)
Out Stealing Horses (Per Petterson)

¤ Mantras:
I am safe
This too shall pass
Emptiness provides meaning
I shall overcome

¤ Watch:
Nothing Personal (2009)
Breathless (1960)
The Darjeeling Limited (or anything by Wes Anderson really)
Amélie (2001)
Only Lovers Left Alive (2013)
Shanghai Express (1932)
Lost In Translation (2003)
Paris Blues (1961)
Cinema Paradiso (1988)
One Rainy Afternoon (1936)
The Grand Seduction (2013)
Une Femme Est Une Femme (1961)
Submarine (2010)
Spirited Away (2001)
For Lovers Only (2011)

I’ll end this post by sending positive vibes your way and with a Rumi quote: “Your legs will get heavy and tired. Then comes a moment of feeling the wings you’ve grown, lifting”
Thanks for reading

Excellent suggestions!

(Amélie is one of my all-time favorite films. It is a real mood-booster.)

If You Need To Feel Calm
The night city grows
Look at the horizon glow
Drinking in the lights
Following the neon signs
Looking at the milky skyline
The city is my church
It wraps me in blinding twilight...
